That's it, i would call myself a casual fan. I've liked the singles but never enough to pay for an album. I remember listening to the 30 second previews on itunes and wasn't blown away so didn't bother buying it.
They aren't the type of group where i instantly want to buy their music and up until now they haven't produced anything thats made me wanna pay money for an album.
Shame really, we could really do with a good girlband these days.

It should be noted that it isn't actually PVC - it's just shiny lycra - obvious when you look at it. It's just like those shiny leggings people wear these days and often refer to them as "latex leggings" when they're nothing of the sort, just shiny lycra.

I don't see the problem?

They are just promoting themselves. They are achiving what they set out to do which is get you guys talking about it.

If they did a shoot at Disneyland you wouldn't be talking about them would you.

Anyway don't see how this wasn't expected spice girls did it, girls aloud did it, sugababes did it even all saints did it.

If they'd done a shoot at Disneyland it would have at least been aimed at the market who would more likely buy the music, teens.
A spread in FHM does nothing for them only look a little desperate...pushed by the fact that that girl from the group is carrying it about with her

Don't remember people complaining when Girls Aloud did it multiple times.

I was gonna ask if Girls Aloud had done this...didn't do them any harm.

difference with Girls Aloud is that they sell records and did do long before they "became sexy".

Back in their early (read: chav) days, they were selling records without a problem. WWTNS is their second biggest selling album for example - it gave them 5 top 10 singles! Heck, it sold 26,000 more copies in its first week then WordShaker has sold in the last 3+ months! The Sats are struggling to go top 10 when their album has just 60k of sales, GAs 5 singles managed it with a double platinum album

Point is GA don't NEED to be sexy to sell records, they've proved that.

As a result it doesn't come across as desperate when they do sexy photoshoots because we know that they don't need them to help sales, they're just doing for fun or money.

The Saturday's, on the other hand, have yet to prove themselves. Wordshaker is currently a flop and Ego doesn't appear to be helping it. As a result this photoshoot comes across as desperate. It's like the management said "oh well, your music's not selling your albums, might as well try taking your clothes off"

If wordshaker had sold, say, 300,000 units by now it wouldn't look so bad. but the fact that's not selling makes this seem desperate.

I repeat, it makes it SEEM desperate, it's the way it comes across. I don't know why their management did this, it may be simply for money and have nothing to do with the album, but the way it comes across is poor IMO

Sorry but thats complete rubbish. Do you really think there target audience is the people that go to disney.

If my lil bro told me to sit down with my ego id tell him to F@$k off.

All of the girlbands have always been a hit with teen to middle aged men. evidently thats why they have done this shoot.

I will now buy all their records because they showed more skin in a photo.

The marketing men behind this are geniuses.

I hate that slouchy bendy leg hand in the pants pose look these girls are all going for these days!

And that picture makes them all look like they hate each other.
look at the one on the end on the right, the face on her she looks disgusted.
And the blonde one on the other side hugging yer wan she looks like she'd rather be anywhere but there.

nice looking girls, but that pic just looks awkward and uncomfortable!
