The European Figure skating championships from Tallin in Estonia begin on Janury 19th, if you have Eurosport you can watch it, because I am sure the BBC will ignore it as usual!....Good luck to the Kerrs!

I'm looking forward to this too! I wouldn't think the BBC would show it, Eurosport is our best hope!
Good luck to all the British competitors! And interesting one to watch & see how everyone is shaping up for the Olympics in Feb.

I'm sure the BBC will show some highlights + red button as this is Olympic year.

I wasn't that impressed with the routine that Domnina and Shablin did for their free dance last season and I was surprised when they won the gold at the worlds!

TBH I felt the same, but as I don't know anything about the technique of skating I decided it was just me not really understanding what I was watching.

Does anyone know if Plushenko's turning up to get into the swing of things after his year out?

My wife watches the skating but eurosport are crap at keeping to schhedules.
They seem to start early but not tell customers when this is going to happen.
They have no customer support and thier website is crap at giving usefull information as well.

I tuned in at 9.30pm last night (as they had said the previous evening) to find that I had missed most of the Mens short programme, so I wasn't very happy, I am going to tune in earlier tonight to be on the safe side!

Eurosport used to give their times in CET (Central European Time), don't know if they still do as I don't have Sky. So 9.30pm CET would be 8.30pm in the UK.

They said on Wednesday night that they would be on at 9.30pm our time and 10.30pm Central European time!

What did you all think of Plushenko? I wasn't over-awed by him at all.

Thought the Czech guy (Michal Brezina) was amazing!

Eurosport's scheduling is a bit hit and miss, isn't it? - I didn't even know the men were on, I was expecting it to start with the pairs at 9.30 p.m. I have loved the pairs so far, the two Russian couples and the Germans, Aliona and Robin - the scoring was pretty spot on, those were my top three. Hoping for more pairs action tonight, as that was promised, as well as some more men, but who knows what we'll get!

Unfortunately I missed the pairs. Have just been watching the Mens on Eurosport. Plushenko was brilliant. Really looking forward to the Olympics now.

They are just about to show the Original dance.

Plushy as ever gave another brilliant perormance full of content, spins, you name it he threw the kitchen sink at it. Will anyone get near him in Vancouver?

I do like Stephane Lambiel, he has such an artistic way with him, he does remind me a bit of the late John Curry, but with a modern feel to it, and a couple of quads ..... then he goes and tips up on the flat.

When I look at these ice dancers, they really haven't picked up the ball and ran with it since T & D in 1984. None of them seem to have the imagination to invent steps and choreography like Chris Dean.

....... and the outfits. That green coat that bloke had on, it was far to long, too baggy. This guy who has just skated has some sort of skirt going on. It's a bit like the Eurovision, you see it but don't quite believe it ...... ahhhhh these Europeans.

Christopher is one of our genuine national heroes. A genius really.

So much of skating now is gynaecological acrobatics which isn't attractive to me at all but hey ho.

I think the new scoring system in skating doesn't really favour innovation unfortunately.

Does anyone know what has happened to Delobel and Shoenfelder....they don't seem to be competing again this year and I haven't heard either Simon or Nicky mention them!

On their website
http://www.delobel-schoenfelder.net/

Isobel announced that she had had a baby on October 2nd last year but they still intended to compete in the Europeans!
