My new Orange phone arrived yesterday, and I've already told them to send a pre-paid envelope so that I can return it to them.

1. The front facia had a slight crack in it.

2. Even though I registered the phone yesterday afternoon, they have still not managed to switch the phone on and have told me to allow another 24 hours

3. I asked to be put on a £15 package, and find out some d*ckhead put me on a £25 package, plus £2 for some more texts, and £5 a month insurance that I did not ask for, making a total of £32 a month instead of £15.

They should be sending me a plastic bag to send the phone back to them. Don't make the mistake I did if you are after a new phone. Just go into a shop and buy one.

To balance it out, I've recently had a good experience with Orange.

Bought my wife £15 worth of a new skincare product from a AVON and got a voucher for a free Orange mobile.
At the Orange shop, was informed they'd ran out of the Siemens phones that were intended for the offer, and was offered a Nokia 5210 instead (worth about £65) - Put £10 on it at the shop (PAYG) they registered it there & then - I took it home, put the battery in & it worked straight away, even had about 3/4 charge on the battery.
Nothing spectacular, but a neat little phone - shower-proof & shock-resistant with a 'rubbery' feel to the case, I'm not a mobile phone 'poseur' so I'm not bothered about all the latest bits & bobs - I only use it for calls & the occasional text.
Overall, very happy with the deal,

I bought a Motorola V600 from a shop & i asked to be put on talk 120 with Orange, i was there where this was done over the phone, a few hours later i rang Orange to check, they said i was on talk 200 & i should check with the shop. on the contract it did say talk 120, i rang the shop he just said bring it back & i'll cancel the contract, which seemed rather strange (i'd rang him earlier saying that the phone didn't have exactly what i wanted & i may return it under the 14 day money back guarantee agreement), anyway i didn't like phone so the contract was terminated,

Suprising to read all these problems that people are having with Orange. The last time that I purchased a phone off Orange I did it through there website and received the phone fine and it was up and running within a few hrs of activation. The only area they need to improve on is perhaps better options when it comes to upgrades

re above, the phone i sent back on saturday, 3/4/04 is still live, i've rang the shop 3 times now, the owners says he can't understand why it hasn't been terminated, he says he's been in he business for 10 years & never had a problem, i'll keep chasing this up or i'll be tied to a year contract.

I bought the Sony P800 from them. Works great and I was put onto The £15 per month contract I asked for (that includes free texts which costs extra if you sign up at a shop!

Got mine from a retail Orange store, but I've since recommended it to several friends and colleagues who've ordered without any problem from orange online.
