You can use a DiSEqC switch on the Humax. http://www.astra2d.com/diseqc.htm. The Freesat mode is unaffected. Once in non-Freesat mode you can select a specific satellite, in my case Astra 19.2 or trawl through a list of available stations.
The Humax does not perform a "blind scan" so sometimes it is necessary to input the exact transponder details manually to get what you want. Enjoy!

Ideally you would use two switches, and configure the box as two tuners - same. Whilst I have Freesat on diseqc A it does work if Freesat is on say Diseqc B

so just to confirm.
If i use two swtiches i can record in both freesat mode and non freesat mode with one switch going to each tuner. i take it i would need to keep the switches the same on both i.e freesat on a on both and astra1 on b |

AIUI if you are watching in non-Freesat mode more than 15 minutes before the start of a scheduled Freesat recording you will get a warning that the box needs to switch modes. If less than 15 minutes you will lose the recording. The box can't do a Freesat recording on one tuner whilst a channel is being watched (or recorded) in non Freesat freesat mode. Frankly if you want to use non Freesat mode it is not ideal. At the moment I can't suggest anything better, but with the availability of programme schedule data on the Internet someday there may be a better product!
