I've just ordered the Humax FOXSAT-HDR Freesat+ 320GB - can't wait for it to arrive now.

Quick (probably stupid) question though: to use iPlayer on it, I need an internet connection. I've got wi-fi at home and the router is on a different floor from the TV.

The Humax doesn't have wi-fi does it. Anyone else dealt with this? Can you get a device to pick up the wireless signal and connect over an ethernet cable. Sorry for the complete ignorance, but I don't even know what that would be called. Can anyone help?

Also, I've got a spare router I no longer use - is there a way to adapt that to this purpose?

If your spare router can be configured as a client bridge or wireless bridge, as I believe some can, then you could use that. I have an old 3Com access point doing just that and working well.

Or you could use a Belkin F5D7330 Wireless Gaming Adapter. I have one of those working too. I got it from a company called Logsol at Amazon for £25.

Or you could use a pair of Homeplug devices, I've successfully used Solwise products and other on here have used Devolo ( I think that is the correct spelling).

Homeplug is your best option. Brilliant technology that works very well.
