Fantastic, hope he does well this year, but with last years lot (Olly Stacey what not) I wont hold my breath.

He was fantastic, I think they should have given him another chance. I preferred his voice and imo he wasn't technically inferior to Joe either.

I LOVE his version.

That is pub singer quality at best. I really don't see why it would be held in such high regard.

Joe >>>>>>>>>> Scott James imo.

Doesn't sound natural. He is putting on a bit of an American 'rawk' accent.

His X Factor audition was nice and clear sounding.

Like a majority of Rock Singers.

If Joe sings Kate Bush in the exact range, maybe.

Hmm, okay but not wowed by this (much prefer Joe's and Lucie's versions), though I agree he should have made it through to boot camp, better than a few of them who did make it.

Joe's version is better imo. I do think he should of got through bootcamp though

This beats them both!

By the way, is Joe's version itself based on another cover version? Because he sings it differently to the original.

Joe's version is better than that

And nope it's just Joe putting his own signature on the song

If Joe could have cloned himself to do something similar, I’m sure Louis would have been quoting the Rule Book due to him having an ‘unfair advantage’

I agree … I still prefer Joe’s version too

Hope Scott can get lots of work capitalizing on his X Factor showing.

I agree, it is a shame that the likes of Jedward and Olly, who cannot sing, got as far with really poor vocals and Scott didn't make it through. The Jedward and Olly fans would defend that decision ferociously based on the age old argument of 'entertainment'.

However, in fairness, Scott with his good vocals does not have the x factor. He doesn't carry the whole package.

I wish him well, but Joe's versions of various songs, this being one of them, have vastly increased downloads. Not sure anyone else would have been able to do that. Now he does have the whole package and that is why he won.

Good luck Scott.

Wasn't Joe's version based on the Glee TV show version (another cover version)? Different from the original but it's debatable he put his "own stamp" on it (though it was a good version)

Scott is incredible!
To think he had been isolated for 7 years and to then finding the passion in singing.
Just amazing

Joes own signature?!

The song was simplified for him and was also tuned down to D or even as low as C because he didnt have the vocal for it Scott is in E flat (higher in other words) and I believe the drum pattern was changed in the chorus during Joes performance to a simple one, it was mediocre.

(But what do I know I'm a music buff whos favourite Journey song is DSB)

The original and the Glee version sing the line 'Hold on to that feeling' differently to the JM version. I just wasn't sure if Joe had that arranged for him, or if it was based on someone else's cover version.

I agree! Good luck to Scott!

That was definitely better than Joe's - he put more passion into it and was more creative with the melody. Joe took the melody and made it too simplistic. But then, according to Simon it is a song 'nobody has heard of' so a lot of people probably didn't notice

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UvrxTcqcRTw - Anyone who can sound like Kate Bush I have respect for, any male that can do it like Maxwell too, heres Scott, when his male voice kicks in on the 'Pray god you can cope' part just gives me goosebumps.

He sounds kinda like Kate Bush at the start - that's pretty amazing, and then he's got a great "male" voice.

Hmm, Scott just sounds a bit too pub kareoke. He's talented, sure, but I'm sure with a song like Don't Stop Believing there's lots of people who can crack that out in the pub.

I wanted to say Scott just sent me a very kind message on YouTube thanking me for my comment on the "Woman's Work" video, he also asked me to thank Sickpuppy21 and says that FM has been very kind
Very nice of Scott!
