I am surprised it has taken so long, as Gail looks like a hamster and they are kept in cages.

I wonder if Gail with have her own wheel in her cell.

That it was self defence

EDIT: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SERx6...eature=related (starts at 1:27 - think there may have been a scene after this which I can't find at the moment, but that's his testimony)

What on earth Tracey will have on him now, and why the CPS will bother listening to him are moot points. I'm sure there's a massive loophole which we haven't seen yet. ”

Platt was found in court to be telling lies. He never changed his ' story' and it was clear to the court that he was lying.

I fail to see how anything he could say could make any difference whatsoever

Wel a damn more credible than it all being a dream in a shower, coming back from the dead, etc etc

At least weirder things have happened in reality so it could happen.

All we need is to find a way for Charlie STubbs to come back from the dead

I wonder if there is a connection between Kate Ford Returning and Kim Marsh leaving????

I didn't know Kim Marsh was leaving?

But there is NO WAY Tracey can be set free from prison before a retrial. I know realism can be let go in soaps but not on that scale.

Whatever animal Gail is, it's definitely not an emu.

Let me get this straight; Joe is killed off, Gail is thrown behind bars and in return we get one of the biggest bitches in soap history back? Sounds too good to be true.

I think this is a superb twist! Tracy coming back will certainly upset a few applecarts for certain! I know that it is a bit far fetched regarding the legal loopholes of her being released before a retrial and all, but, it is still "streets" ahead of the current mind numbingly boring Kolly affair!!

Hopefully this will be the cracking kickstart the new producer needs to drag Corrie out of the doldrums it seems to be in at the moment.

One question, when Deirdre was incarcerated, am I correct in saying that your then prime minister, Tony Blair, mentioned his support for freeing her in the parliament?? If so, wonder if Mr. Brown will be saying "Get Gail Outta Jail!"??

And for the record, I still think Gail looks like ET!!

That sounds interesting. I was wondering how they were going to get her out of jail.

You're becoming ever so tiresome Gavin. You seem to be the only person I see who is consistently trying to draw up some rivalry between Coronation Street and EastEnders. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

Oh give over. Honestly it's mindless escapism at the end of the day. If it means bringing one of the better characters from recent years back to the show then it's all good by me. If Corrie was meant to reflect real life then it'd be a damn sight less watchable than it has been.

Now all they need to do is get Suranne Jones to return as Karen.

Karen, Tracey and Becky together...and you thought things were bad now, Steve?

Yes, I agree. Bring back Suranne Jones! 2004 was perhaps the best year the show ever had - mainly because of the on-going rivalry between Tracy and Karen!

Although I think we should wait until we see some Tracy/Becky scenes - they could probably be 10 times more volatile than anything we've seen before. Having said that, would the writers make it really unpredictable and have them as best friends? I mean, we're all expecting them to fall out and be bitchy towards each other.

Tracey needs someone to have fight moments with though, it'll be a waste to bring her back and then deny her the chance of going into Bitch Mode.

Maybe Leanne. She could disapprove of the bar because of her brother's alocholism (dear Lord, that'd mean she'd agree with Ken ) and take it out on Leanne as it was her wish? Leanne'd give as good as she gets - plus if Tracey rounds on her in front of Carla, Carla'd stick up for Leanne as well...

Could have been worse if we still had Capital Punishment and she had been executed!

Link it to Gail Platt, she's got more than a passing resemblance to ET.
