Actually people put themselves in the public eye and these forums exist to discuss such things so it is relevant to discuss it, whether it is "our business" or not!!!

The moment you choose a profession or lifestyle that brings with it the title of celebrity in any form, you have to accept you leave your privacy to a huge extent behind you. If your privacy is of massive importance to you as a person, you simply don't put yourself in the pubic eye, full stop.
The story about Frankie and David was widely reported on in the papers at the time, and its a perfectly reasonable enquiry for someone to make as to whether or not they are still together. Someone's talent or attributes and the profession that it makes them suitable for, or that they desire to pursue, should not make them subject to press and public intrusion. They are human beings. Buying someone's records or a ticket to one of their shows, films, games does not buy you a right to their life. Quote:

I'm another one who was blissfully ignorant of this relationship. Made me chuckle though - talk about Little & Large.

For a forum where celebrity gossip is it's raison d'etre, there are some remarkably "holier than thou" comments on this thread?

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of David and Frankie's relationship, anyone in the public eye does have to accept that their dirty linen will be aired in public and that people who have nothing to do with them personally will discuss what they do in all walks of life. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this; I do find myself interested to a certain point in some aspects of certain celebrities lives outside their chosen celebrity sphere but I'd hope to not pass judgement on them.
Whenever anyone becomes famous, people who watch them in whatever sphere has made them famous do tend to want to know more about them. It becomes a kind of celebrity circle in which, the more famous someone gets, the more interest is generated in them, the more the press tries to uncover about them, the more is known about them, the more famous they get and the more interest is generated in them... Saying that the celebrity shouldn't have to endure this intrusive interest in their private life is only true to an extent. If a celebrity has become famous for having a real talent (sporting/creative etc) and does not try to exploit every photo opportunity but keeps their other half/family out of the media as far as possible then yes, fair enough, I think their privacy should be respected. Tom Daly, for example, should be able to train for 2012 without having paparazzi outside his house wondering if he's got himself a girlfriend yet. David Seaman is a bit less clear. Yes, he originally became famous because of a sporting talent and didn't necessarily sign up to the showbiz goldfish bowl. However, since his retirement from football, he's not exactly tried to stay out of the public eye. And the problem with that is that the sort of celebrity he's now become relies to a certain extent on gossip to maintain it. |

Well, I am extremely late to this one! Picked it up via DS mentioning Frankie on Twitter this morning - so had to Google it.
Anyway, they are still together two years down the line, so hopefully it may be a keeper. Always sad when couples split up, but I guess that's life. |

Hopefully David won't stray this time - he would be an idiot if he did!

Something must have gone horribly wrong. I read an article once about how when he was proposing to Debbie he lit the whole garden with candles. Rather liked him then. And why does he keep having kids if he's going to walk out on them?

Because he doesn't plan to walk out on them I would think.
Planned or not , it is completely and utterly selfish to leave children, they should come first . |
