Sorry but having a talent for a profession that by its very nature puts you in the public does not make you, your family, friends or private life fair game for the public. That's absolute nonsense. How realistic is it for someone to say "I'd like to be a sportsperson/singer/actor (etc) but I don't want anyone to know who I am" ? Rubbish.

Someone's talent or attributes and the profession that it makes them suitable for, or that they desire to pursue, should not make them subject to press and public intrusion. They are human beings. Buying someone's records or a ticket to one of their shows, films, games does not buy you a right to their life.

The reasons I didn't feel at all sorry for Debbie (his wife) when I heard about him and Frankie are that I've met her and she's rather hard nosed and unpleasant and, more to the point, he was married when she met him (when she was the receptionist at Arsenal) and she knew this but had no reservations about throwing herself at him.

What goes around comes around but perhaps Frankie was Debbie's karma.

Only because she is so tiny.

I'm another one who was blissfully ignorant of this relationship. Made me chuckle though - talk about Little & Large.

When David Seaman started out, footballers were not ever classed as celebrities. Even Frankie isnt really a celebrity.

For a forum where celebrity gossip is it's raison d'etre, there are some remarkably "holier than thou" comments on this thread?

she must know she's skating on thin ice if she thinks he'll be faithful to her....

I'd hate to be with a bloke that has all those 'access' visits to fit in.....

Irrespective of the rights and wrongs of David and Frankie's relationship, anyone in the public eye does have to accept that their dirty linen will be aired in public and that people who have nothing to do with them personally will discuss what they do in all walks of life. I'm not saying I agree or disagree with this; I do find myself interested to a certain point in some aspects of certain celebrities lives outside their chosen celebrity sphere but I'd hope to not pass judgement on them.

Whenever anyone becomes famous, people who watch them in whatever sphere has made them famous do tend to want to know more about them. It becomes a kind of celebrity circle in which, the more famous someone gets, the more interest is generated in them, the more the press tries to uncover about them, the more is known about them, the more famous they get and the more interest is generated in them...

Saying that the celebrity shouldn't have to endure this intrusive interest in their private life is only true to an extent. If a celebrity has become famous for having a real talent (sporting/creative etc) and does not try to exploit every photo opportunity but keeps their other half/family out of the media as far as possible then yes, fair enough, I think their privacy should be respected. Tom Daly, for example, should be able to train for 2012 without having paparazzi outside his house wondering if he's got himself a girlfriend yet. David Seaman is a bit less clear. Yes, he originally became famous because of a sporting talent and didn't necessarily sign up to the showbiz goldfish bowl. However, since his retirement from football, he's not exactly tried to stay out of the public eye. And the problem with that is that the sort of celebrity he's now become relies to a certain extent on gossip to maintain it.

Well, I am extremely late to this one! Picked it up via DS mentioning Frankie on Twitter this morning - so had to Google it.

Anyway, they are still together two years down the line, so hopefully it may be a keeper.

Always sad when couples split up, but I guess that's life.

Hopefully David won't stray this time - he would be an idiot if he did!

Something must have gone horribly wrong. I read an article once about how when he was proposing to Debbie he lit the whole garden with candles. Rather liked him then. And why does he keep having kids if he's going to walk out on them?

He's not the only on DOI that has left their children for some teenage crush, they need to grow up and stop being so selfish.

I think Frankie will need a lot longer than two years before she starts to feel secure - provided of course she doesn't have children. It seems David isn't too keen once his children reach the ages between 7 and 9. He walked out on his first marriage when his children were 7 and 8 and the youngsters from his second marriage when they were 8 and nine.

Not exactly a great track record.

Because he doesn't plan to walk out on them I would think.

Planned or not , it is completely and utterly selfish to leave children, they should come first .

I think there are circumstances when it isn't. Some of the stories in the news prove that children can be better off without bad parents.
