Greatest (most favoured) Solo Artist - top tens here:
On the back of the 'best group' thread and many people saying 'why not solo artistes' I thought, why not have a separate thread.
Band members who have had solo success outside or after their group success are accepted - after all, this is about your faves. Please list a maximum of ten each. The results will be calculated and posted on Jan 25th |

Agreed!
I only ask because I don't want to count Tori twice if you decide to post a list later and I don't realise it was you again. |

, there's some in my list that aren't popularily seen as "best solo artist ever' but I think they deserved a shout.

Another wonderful break from the usual bilge in this forum - thanks to the OP... however it should state that an artist listed must be an artist (creating art) as opposed to a karaoke star
.Anyway, some of mine, in no order: 1. Paul McCartney 2. Brian Wilson 3. Frankie Valli 4. Bob Dylan 5. David Bowie 6. Greg Graffin (singer of Bad Religion) 7. John Lennon 8. Michael Jackson 9. Joe McElderry 10. Ray Davies |

I thought about putting some 'rules' up but at the end of the day it should be all inclusive - even if we do end up in a situation similar to when Capital Gold did a 'best single ever' poll in 1984 or 85 and Bros won with 'When Will I Be Famous' cos all the voters were kids
![]() BTW, don't mean to sound snobby, but are your last two not 'karaoke singers'? ![]() As for Ray... he's one of the greatest living song-writers and has released solo material, so qualifies for this thread.

Ah, you got me... I'll replace Joe with Bach then.
