I'm by no means huge - but I take a 36 trouser and XL t-shirts/shirt. But when it comes to labels like Superdry/Firetrap etc their XL tends to fit an anorexic 16 year old....I dread to think what people look like who take their small!!?!
Okay "fashionistas" I guess I'm what you would call fat - doesn't mean I want to wear whatever stretches over me from Primark.

Okey dokey. So the problem is fashion and where you shop.

What am I missing here?

Have you looked at Debenhams , plenty of trendy clothing that goes way past your size.

A fat person should ideally lose weight so they are no longer a fat person. If they are too weak to do so, they should dress down, not up. Fashion and fat simply do not mix

Sometimes I think the problem can be in the style of top - my husband has to go for a size larger if he's buying a 'slim fit' top and a lot of Superdry/Firetrap clothes are that fit these days really. I was sure Superdry do a bigger than XL fit though so could it just be the sizes that are stocked where you're shopping - have you tried their websites? My husband ordered some t-shirts from Firetrap a few months back and they were in the sale so cheaper than the same tops were in the shops and the delivery was really fast too

I have the same problem with clothes but it's my height that's the problem. The length of legs on Firetrap jeans or trousers is about 6 inches longer than the length of my legs. It really annoys me because I have to buy daggy jeans or cut the bottoms off and when I do that they usually look ridiculous.

It would be cool if they catered for all shapes and sizes.

It's inflammatory. Obviously, if someone had a BMI of 1 million and looked like a sphere of lard, then the post would make some sense. In the real world, especially the OP's case, the post content is irrelevant. Don't fall for the trap.

Sorry if I hit a raw nerve with you, but being fat and being fashionable simply do not mix

Evans has some nice clothes, but it is very expensive and going into the shop can make people feel bad, but all you need is the confidence to go in (and a lot of money!) and their clothes are alright.

Alternatively, if you want hoodies, jackets, jeans etc, I love Matalan's male section. I fit into clothes from New Look, Next etc for clothes that are close-fitting, but for fashionable hoodies, jumpers, jeans etc, the Matalan men's section is definitely the place to go.

Neither does fashion and trolls, so you must be very unfashionable indeed.

Fashionable clothes, particularly of 'trendy' brands tends to be designed either to fit a stick insect or someone of really 'average' proportions.

I'm not fat, or chubby, infact I am very slim but I have quite long legs, 34 inch in fact, and trying to find a trouser length in my size from the high street can be a nightmare - I have around a 30-32 waist and trying to find trousers other than a 30 waist 30 leg or 32 waist 32 leg is often impossible!

Not all of us have standard legs!

Likewise I have quite long arms and so although a top might fit me across the chest and around my tum the sleeves are often a little bit too short!

Finding jeans to fit you when you're below average height is near enough mission impossible.

No, I don't want to have to cut the bottoms off and re-hem, thank you very much
