Out of interest I did " what's my IP address" on my ITouch and although it was using my home WiFi , it was a completely different address , does anyone know if this is right ???

Your home wifi network probably establishes its own local range of addresses in the range 192.168.x.x which your wireless router allocates and sets up using DHCP. The IP address of your iTouch on your local network is quite seperate from the IP address your router has on the internet generally (your computer will also have one of these local addresses as well, but DHCP takes care of ensuring everything can talk to each other).
