Hi

I have searched these forums - and found a number of answers, but remain confused! Haven't managed to get through to Humax technical support.

Unit will not accept my postcode - EPG is not being loaded, so initial thoughts are that I am not picking up Eurobird.

When I check through the hummie appendix to check signal from transponder 11428H 27500A I get strength 85%, Quality 0%. From other transponders (eg 11954H 27500A) I get 90% strength, 50% quality). I presume 11428H is the Eurobird? I am in South Scotland.

So this would indicate that my dish is not set up to get Eurobird?

What is really confusing me is that my Panasonic TV has a freesat tuner, with separate connection to the same LNB (it's a quad one) - and the EPG is always complete for the TV..

Faulty Hummy - or could the dish alignment be out (even though the TV picks it up)?

Yes that's the home transponder for the epg although the hdr database has 11427 H rather than 11428 H. Try using the TV connection on tuner 1 to eliminate the lnb. Also try EX2 2JN as a postcode in case it's a postcode database problem

Sorry Graham beat me to it!!

Remember to put the space in your post code when you enter it.
The frequency and settings that you refer to are nothing to do with the Freesat EPG, the channels on this transponder Actually 11426 V 27500 2/3 are available in the Non Freesat Mode only. (Pricedrop TV, 9XM etc.)
If your postcode is still being rejected after you have put the space in you could try an alternative Scottish one to get you started.
After setup go into diagnostics and it should show good Strength/Quality readings on the 10832 MHz transponder.
Hope this helps!!
All the very best.

I have tried the TV connection, still no quality on 11428H. Not sure about 11427H? not available from the list of transponders? I have tried numerous postcodes - with the space, doesn't make any difference.

I had this with my HDR 1st time I tried it.

A factory reset cured it.

I had the space in the postcode - and have tried many, English as well as Scottish. I am getting 85% strength and 70% quality on 10832H - I am a bit confused reading your post ie 11426 V 27500 2/3?? Which transponder does the box need to accept a postcode?

Tried that, at the 2nd screen, freesat detection, the unit just says 'searching for the satellite signal', and doesn't proceed.

11427 V is the Eurobird transponder that transmits the epg and all freesat mheg services. If you go into manual tune and scroll down the transponder list you should find 11427 H (unless they have changed the database it says 11427 not 11426). Look at the signal strength and quality if you have no quality it's likely a lnb, coax connection or alignment problem.
