Ask the member Litchick, I remember them saying they saw some of the filming.

Wikipedia says:

In November 2009, Several scenes were shot on Windermere for the soap opera Coronation Street. The filming centered around Pull Wyke Bay and Pull Wood House on the North-West shoreline. The Scenes, featuring the newlyweds Gail and Joe on honeymoon will be shown in January/February 2010.
Dunno how accurate that is though.

Well it is hardly the North Pole, you know. They do have some snow free days.

Must be for something else then, since they came back today

It is supposed to be contemporaneous with our reality though. They has Christmas and New Year's Eve a little while back, so it should be mid January right now, i.e., covered in snow and ice.
Emmerdale is worse off though. As it's a country soap, it's full of trees, and they can't go running round pulling all the leaves off them in the autumn because they know that the episode they happen to be filming is going out in the winter.
