Rosie Webster: So much better when she's not being a slag!
Anyone else agree?
Unlike the majority on here, I don't think the actress is too bad when she's given some material to work with that doesn't involve her being slaggy. And suprisingly I think she stood out in the reveal tonight, rather than Brooke Vincent (Sophie).. |

I agree with you!!!
I think she was good tonight and I also think she's a good comedy actress a lot of the time. Her eyes tonight when Graeme was crying were really funny. Yeah she can be annoying and won't win any oscars but she is by no means the worst actress in soapland and on the whole does a pretty good job. At a time like this when Corrie is pretty poor, I look forward to Rosie's scenes as at least they are fun. |

I agree, everyone always says 'Oh, Brooke's such a better actress' but in all fairness, of course Brooke will be more realistic as Rosie is supposed to be constantly OTT and melodramatic whereas Sophie is more normal.
I thought she was good in the reveal scene, and sooo much better when not being a slag (she'd pull it off in Hollyoaks but it seems a bit out of place in Corrie imo), although her scenes do add fun to the show imo. I love her scenes with Graeme - they're a great double act. |

I think Helen Flanagan does a bloody good job most of the time anyway, I just can't fathom the Rosie hatred. She's an excellent character, and I look forward to storylines involving her. It'll be nice to see how she handles Sally's cancer.

No, I thought she was crap as usual. Awful actress and character.

I'm not really a Rosie fan but the last few episodes she's just shown how good she is as an actress Her emotion when her mother's life threatening situation was brought up was spot on As was Sophie's |

I started a similar thread last week - not one reply - thought I was alone in my praise for Rosie when she isn't a tart....Rosie was never a tart and her character over the last 2 years has been out of character. Hopefully they'll continue down this path

She was definitely better tonight, no doubt about it and I have been a critic of Rosie but DID wonder why she was so good in the Goth days but her acting ability seemed to slip?
With hindsight though I think having her as an empty headed bimbo strutting around the factory as if she owned the place, trying to be a mini-Carla all puffed up and full of her own self importance was wrong and the character did get a lot of people annoyed, me one of them. She just wasn't likeable IMO. Though I do see why she has legions of male admirers ![]() Yet it's been lately when she's actually been a bimbo, going into glamour modeling (and naturally enough getting ripped off!) and wearing that ridiculous costume to flog the cherry vodka that I've taken to her. I thought it was a good idea and something that the Rosie character would do. She would be like some desperado wanting the be 'famous', be in Big Brother and get her picture in the Holy Grail - Heat magazine! ![]() However, I'm hoping to see a more grown up and responsible Rosie in the coming weeks whilst she's coping with her Mum's illness and we see the character evolve. I hope that Helen is up to the task

As a viewer of the show, I'm not really a fan of Rosie, however I think she does work well with Graeme, who I am a huge fan of!
I would like to see her develop a friendship of sorts with Graeme and hopefully he will be able to bring her out of herself much more than she is now. Rather than keeping her in her supeficial state where she has been staying for the last few years. |

She was much better but is still a dreadful actress. She just can't do airhead bimbo without appearing to be a caricature.
