I'm thinking of getting an electic toothbrush and wondered what everyone thought were the best?

Any opinions would be grateful!

Stick to a manual toothbrush. Less chance of wearing.

I use the Oral B ones that are often on offer at half price for £12.50. Used with a polishing head they are very good. I have quite decent teeth but nicotine stains on the back, the polishing head removes them.

My Dentist always says "I can see you are using an electric toothbrush".
They are much better than a manual old fashioned toothbrush.

I used one for a few months but always felt my mouth didn't really feel clean. There's nothing better than a good scrub with a manual one.

I got a new one for xmas and i love it!

The clean feeling is awesome.

There is a choice of different heads for different things, so i use the polishing one.

I still have a manual one, but i find the electric one gets right into places i cant reach with my manual one.

Boots had an offer on my one at half price...about £50 i think and you get 4 different heads with it.

I've been using electric toothbushes for about 15 years now (i'm in my late 30s) and I don't have any fillings. My dentist usually says something like "grr pesky electric toothbrushes- i'll get some money out of you one day".

I have tried the Philips Sonicare ones but I just couldn't get on with them at all- my teeth felt all furry like the inside of a kettle after a few days. Braun Oral B are definitely the best.

I've invested in a Sonic Plakaway....anyone heard of it?

It's had some really great reviews but I'll reserve judgement at the moment

Cheers for all the replies!!

I have a Braun Oral B. I switched to an electric toothbrush on my dentist's advice - I was brushing too hard with my manual brush and as a result my gums began to recede quite severely.

It's nigh on imposible to brush too hard with an electric one. I've been using it for about 8 years with no problems.

Only ever used the Oral B. Get the Professional - as someone else said they're often on half price promotion.
