Due an upgrade - don't know what to go for!

I've had my Nokia 6300 for years now and called for an upgrade yesterday - Orange weren't very helpful and I got so confused.

Any suggestions as to what I should go for (on my contract they said I can have pretty much anything I want)

I don't need anything too high-tech and I am used to using a Nokia.

I want something a bit more up to date though.

Any ideas appreciated

Nokia 5800? don't know how you would feel about a touch screen though?

I'll have a look thanks.

Not too keen on iPhones or touch screen as I know loads of people that have them and hate them

considered a blackberry? i've had a iphone, nokia n97 and my last phone was a nokia 6300.

i decided to take the plunge recently and go for a sim free blackberry bold 9700 after hearing and seeing so many good reviews about it. i reckon it is the best phone i have ever used

They can take a little getting used to. I always had nokia phone and then had a samsung touch screen phone which i hated, but then i got an iPhone and have never looked back. If you really don't like the idea of a touch screen then the Nokia 6303 is supposed to be good too.

I may have a play around with my friends iPhone (she hates it though!!)

I quite like the Nokia X6 http://shop.nokia.co.uk/nokia-uk/sea...&culture=en-GB

It's not out yet though!

I guess my problem is that the newer phones will be more hi-tech so I may be need to embrace the new technology

But I am not keen on anything where people can email me (work would never leave me alone )

setting up email on a phone is always optional. i have 4 accounts on my blackberry and initially all sorts of notifications were coming through about new emails! thankfully the phone i have has plenty of options to enable or disable pretty much any notifications i choose.

i suppose what it comes down to mainly is

1 - do you want a touchscreen phone or not?

and more importantly

2 - if you get a touchscreen phone...are you fussy about having fingerprint smudges all over your screen or not!?

If your using the 6300 and dont want anything complicated go for either the 6303 which is the newer version of your old phone or go for the nokia 6700. both have keypads and if you are just going to be doing calls and texts would both be ideal. hope this helps

I would second this. The stylish 6700 has a much better camera and GPS built-in. The 6303 is an improved 6300.
