1. No, unless braking mum's walkman when I was much younger counts

2. 4Music

3. iPod/Internet

4. Dance, Upbeat, Strong with much more variety and more connectful lyrics. It's an experience.

5. Too much emphasis on a guy being a Solider and a girl being a Doll/Mannequin. Women are about hating guys and Guys about sex and how guys are wrong.

Cassette walkman which I used to play Jacko's 'Dangerous' album.

2 - what music channel on Sky / Freeview / cable do you find yourself listening to the most?

None because I have a soul.

3 - how do you mainly listen to music. TV, Radio, internet, or your own CD / MP3 player

iTunes now with my own collection.
Last.fm / myspace to discover other stuff, and youtube... but the sound quality is always shit.

4 - What is the best thing about modern music (2002 onwards)

Illegal downloads
Metal
Brian Wilson's SMiLE

5 - what is the worst thing about modern music (2002 onwards)

1 - Did you ever own a cassette / CD walkman Yes, and still do.

2 - what music channel on Sky / Freeview / cable do you find yourself listening to the most? Scuzz, and even that's very rarely.

3 - how do you mainly listen to music. TV, Radio, internet, or your own CD / MP3 player My own CD's and MP3 player. That said, I do listening online (YouTube, Spotify) and listen to certain shows on the radio religiously.

4 - What is the best thing about modern music (2002 onwards) There are a lot of bands out there who use the last 50 years of music merged with modern technology and a hint of originality.

5 - what is the worst thing about modern music (2002 onwards) The charts are a heap of unoriginal crap, in my opinion, a large percentage of music has stopped being about creativity and has become about a record producer putting a band of attractive males / females together who can dance and sing and only cares making money from them.

1 - Did you ever own a cassette / CD walkman - yes a CD walkman

2 - what music channel on Sky / Freeview / cable do you find yourself listening to the most? - BBC 6music (radio) - I only have freeview and their music TV channels are awful

3 - how do you mainly listen to music. TV, Radio, internet, or your own CD / MP3 player - CD stereo usually

4 - What is the best thing about modern music (2002 onwards) - before then lesser known acts got less exposure, but now it's easier to find out about them thanks to things like Youtube and Spotify

5 - what is the worst thing about modern music (2002 onwards) - lack of variety in the chart, it's mainly just RnB. oh and the fact that there are no female artists that get anywhere in more than a miniskirt anymore.

1 - Did you ever own a cassette / CD walkman
Yes a cassette walkman. No CD walkman

2 - what music channel on Sky / Freeview / cable do you find yourself listening to the most?
I don't listen to them or watch them

3 - how do you mainly listen to music. TV, Radio, internet, or your own CD / MP3 player

If you're talking about music technology then it's the easy accessibility of old tunes online.

5 - what is the worst thing about modern music (2002 onwards)
It sounds the same and is forgettable

The Box or 4music

3 - how do you mainly listen to music. TV, Radio, internet, or your own CD / MP3 player

4 - What is the best thing about modern music (2002 onwards)
that so much more music has become available through the internet

5 - what is the worst thing about modern music (2002 onwards)
The fact that it is so cliched and generic and i am at that age where most people my age like all that stuff, so i guess feel i have to conform and fit in at times

I do all my music listening through my earphones. I have a Phillips radio/cassette/ and cd player all rolled into one. I just prefer these days to listen to my music through my earphones.

1 - Yes to both

2 - 4 Music

3 - Spotify

4 - The internets made it a lot easier to find and listen to the music you want e.g. Spotify, iTunes, YouTube. And the internets made it a lot cheaper to buy music, because of downloads, and cheap CDs on places like Amazon, Play etc. Also, music blogs and forums make it easier to discover new music.

5 - A lot of chart music is total rubbish. And the industry seems really cut throat - i.e. a lot of the acts I like have been dropped after their first or second album, because they haven't had massive sales. I know record labels need to make money, but its frustrating when rubbish like Cheryl Cole's album gets to number one, while decent acts are being dropped. Also, everythings based on marketing/image over substance, and the X Factor has too much of an influence on the charts.

1. Both. The CD one was a prize

2. I used to listen to the hits and TMF but they got boring. I rarely watch music videos and if I want to see one I go to YouTube.

3. I still like FM radio. It is the easiest way to hear something I haven't heard before. Especially when I'm out. Plus I like the between-song banter. When I'm in I listen to Spotify more.

4. Spotify and YouTube.

5. Industry experts hailing some "cool", "quirky" artist as the next big thing when really they are not that different to what is out there and actually sound quite similar to other "cool" and "quirky" artists. I'm not saying their music is bad or good, but there is something annoying about the hype surrounding some of these "ones to watch" artists.
