Was looking forward to reading, secrets, lies and dangerous liasons, but by the time i got to the bottom of the page all i had read was about other peoples birthdays and lives, why can`t these people start a thread called birthdays etc, so we do not have to read about their sad lives.

Yah, it was someones birthday and they threw a virtual party whilst discussing Emmerdale, I can see it may be frustrating to those who just wanna read about the show, but it's something they do on there

Well you didnt exactly make it clear what you were talking about.

But I agree with you. I never go into an "Emmerdaily" because of those people who think they are brilliant and entertaining, when they're clearly not

I dont think anybody thinks that - they (and me occasionally) just like to have and chat and joke about the show. no need for any insults.

I can see how that may come across, but I think it's difficult to get into any established group.

I don't think so, you just post. The few times I have, I've had replies in there. Meh! People just cry like babies on here.

Well everyones experience is different and not everyone is interested in posters personal lives. I think the OP was brave enough to say so.

I saw someone get a telling off once for posting something about ED and it not being in that thread. Why would they want to wade through endless amounts of cliquey twaddle just to post something relevant about the show?

Hi, this is a proper soap forum, probably one of the best out there with a high frequency of different posters on it. You could always discuss Emmerdale on the spoilers thread or read the episode guides. Or maybe try and get to know the posters or skip the first page of the dailies or maybe the first two pages then people start chatting about the show

I agree. They are also very cliquey and mostly full of greetings rather than discussion of the episode.

I'd like to see the Soaps section sectionned by Soaps. I prefer to read about only those soaps I watch, and can get a bit annoyed if I inadvertently stray into one I don't watch. Not enough to be rude about the posters, mind.

Perhaps those posting on the Emmerdailies should be told to just talk about the episode, and not fill the thread with greetings, talk about buffets and birthdays etc.

It's just the way the dalies have developed. I find there's a lack of meaningful post-show discussion to go with the laffs so I rarely visit them now. I can see how a newcomer wanting to talk about the show would be bewildered by the in-jokes and personal talk too.

But with a forum once you find your way about you can then decide where to post for yourself

This has been my experience too, oh and god forbid you decide to start an alternative emmerdale thread to discuss the actual episode
