Did anybody watch this morning yesterday?

She gave away a whole lot of spoilers to do with Corronation Street and the storylines that will be happening for the/and around the 50th anniversary.

Apparently

Spoiler
Gail will be framed for Joe's murder

Spoiler
Peter falls off of the wagon, and Grandad George takes Simon into his care.

Spoiler
There is going to be a funeral for Blanche, when Tracy returns.

Spoiler
Steve and Becky plan to get Amy's name changed from Barlow to McDonalds, starting off a whole chain of events with Tracy.

Spoiler
Tony's going to return.

Spoiler
Sally recovers but the 'repercussions' of the Molvin affair will carry on well into the year

Spoiler
And Tracy strikes up a friendship with an unlikely friend in Jail (Gail?)

(Apologies if there is already a thread for this)

i would have thought she would be arrested on insurance fraud rather then framed

Most of them have been mentioned already.

They soound quite good, I'm glad that Maggie Jones is finally going to get a proper send off on screen.

However, I'm not really looking forward to
Spoiler
Tony's return or Molly and Kevin's affair
I don't really see what else they could possibly do with these storylines anymore. Especially,
Spoiler
Tony's story
I thought they had tied it up nicely the first time around, now it's going to be repeated again and again.

I'm skeptical myself.

Apparently "he'll be back with a bang" in the spring [which is when Maria's due to return] and he'll involved in a controversial storyline

Don't get me wrong, I thought the whole story was good, and if they do manage to bring him back with a bang and add something different to the story, then I'll be happy to sit back and watch.

I'm not totally against his return, I guess I'll have to just wait and see how they deal with his return.

Looking forward to

Spoiler
Gail being framed. I saw some photos of David chucking Joe's phone in the canal in Inside Soap. The article made out that he was actually HELPING Gail, but since he knows about the "life ensurance scheme" I suppose it's likely to be him that frames her? I hope so. I miss the Gail/David stuff, I think it brings many layers to David when he starts lashing out at his mum.

NOT looking forward to
Spoiler
Tony's return.

I like Tony.Except when he tries and fails miserably to kill someone. I wish he wouldn't do that.

Spoiler
I expect Tony's return will be his trial -nothing else they can do with him !unless he was found not guilty and even if that happened he would face a lynch mob if he dared to return to the street.

I wonder if this controversial storyline turns out to be Maria is pregnant with his baby or something... . Hopefully not!

I am looking forward to Tracy's return, and Blanche's funeral (hope they give her a good send off and do her character justice!)

Peter falling off the wagon again? Yawn . Why do they have to go back down that path? Why did George have to turn out to have an ulterior motive? It would've made a better storyline, imo, for George to be who he said he was and genuinely want to help Peter and Simon out.

The other stuff is just average. Except the Molvin stuff. WHY couldn't they have left it at the whole thing around Christmas and it all blowing up and fizzling out to nothing with Kevin going back to Sally? What are we going to see next, Molly blackmailing Kevin or something? Make it stop.

Please, Please.... don't go down the old EE route by getting the resident Alkie to fall off the waggon every few months, it's boring and is a cop out .

I know! I thought I was the only person who didn't get these two. It's one of the most boring and tedious storylines in coronation street history and I was hoping it would come to a standstill now, but I think it's going to be another max/stacey eastenders storyline that drags on and on and on.

Some not bad stories there, but a tad disappointing considering its a 50th anniversary year. The Neighbours 20th anneversary and Home and Away's 20th anneversary years were better than this, and so was EE's 20th and 25th.
