Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
Dance Commander
12-01-2010
Hi

I don't normally wear any sort of blusher, just foundation but I was thinking of starting to wear it.
I keep walking past the Bobbi Brown counter in John Lewis and the shimmer bricks have been catching my eye - however, they are quite expensive and I don't want to buy something I will never use.

So - can you use these as blushers. My problem is that as I wear foundation, I don't need a bronzer otherwise my colour is too heavy. Or would a shimmer brick really be for going out - to make your cheeks highlighted? When you put it on, how shimmery is it, could you wear it in the daytime? Does it give enough colour to be a blusher or is it too subtle?

sorry about all the questions, but I'd like some tips and suggestions from people about how to wear this makeup before I go ahead and buy (as opposed to just buying a normal blusher).

Thanks
fi~

i use shimmer blocks for daytime and at night however i use the body shop ones (had the bobbi brown ones in the past and there great but the body shops a lot cheaper and just as good imo)
i use the rose one for during the day to give a hint of colour in my cheeks and the bronze one for going out
i like them as you can have them light or really dark as you want them as the different colours in the shimmer combine to give a nicer shade than just a plain blusher does

before splashing out on the bobbi brown ones have a look at the body shop or even go in with your foundation one to the bb counter and ask the sales assistant for a demo of one and they will put it on for you

I find blushers and bronzers which house several different shades really useful because they look more natural than those which are all one-colour.

I can't even begin to afford a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick though, so I can't comment specifically on that one, sorry.

Just to add to my last post; Benefit have a new blusher called Sugarbomb, which has four different shades you can use individually or blend together. It was designed to give a half-bronzer half-blusher look, which made me think it might be similar to what you're after

Found a picture of it here: Sugarbomb
