If the transmitter was off and no forum members noticed, I wonder how many viewers it has got.
I think you're confusing Digital Spy forum members with normal people.

Movies4men LCN 51 has been completely removed from the G_MAN mux sometime in the last 42 hours, exact time unknown to me - scripts haven't been running since 23:50 on Sunday for some reason. The retune message video and audio PIDs have gone too. So G_MAN is now running with 5 video streams.

Also, I see there are photos up on MB21 of the new L_MAN antenna (as well as L_LIV and L_PTN) - http://tx.mb21.co.uk/gallery/gallery...71&pageid=1867 - seems slightly ironic that the new L_MAN arrangement appears to be exactly what OFCOM specified for G_MAN - "Four stacked log periodic antennas" at 140m AGL - back when they were auctioning it and Cardiff in 2008 - http://stakeholders.ofcom.org.uk/bin...tice524/im.pdf page 20.

I have no idea what's coming next- I just report what I see! LCN 51 and 52 are both free for use on G_MAN at the moment - in use in NI.

I thought the dreadful pictures on Movies for men were due to it being squeezed in to the Manchester Mux. Now I can compare M4M with M4M+1 on the Man Mux, they are identically dreadful. Perhaps it doesn't matter, I get the impression that some people on these forums collect TV channels like small boys used to collect railway engine numbers, they don't actually watch them so quality of any kind is unimportant.

As I understand it all the G_MAN channels up until Fire Hit TV came along were rebroadcasting streams that they received from D-Sat. Fire Hit stated on twitter that their launch was delayed because they were waiting for fibre to get their distribution to Winter Hill in place.

Trainspotting probably isn't too far off the mark - I'm interested in the Freeview tech because I can dig inside it via a pc card and linux, but if I'm actually sitting down watching TV then it's almost always something in HD recorded or live from my Sky box!

L_MAN has just fired up - data already present, two channels visible. There's a fair chance L_LIV and L_PTN may be up too, worth a look if you may be on one of those petals...

edit: 14:50 and L_MAN is off air now.

Bonanzabonanza (64) and Pop (75) both OK in Altrincham, good signal strength/quality. Picture quality on The Lucy Show rather dire as reported elsewhere in these forums.

L_MAN seems to be off now, and has been for maybe 20+ minutes. I'm starting to suspect that they've finished testing for the day.

Just to clarify "off" - I am still seeing a signal being transmitted but my TV reports zero signal quality, and the TV card in my pc often reports SIG CARR VIT SYNC - but importantly isn't seeing LOCK - so no valid data.

Anyone from Liverpool or Preston/Blackpool seeing anything?

I am in Wirral and get

Pop
Bonanza Bonanza

and nothing else on this mux. It is on ch 56.

Can anyone confirm what is currently on the Manchester Channel 56 if anything? Not sure which one I am getting - I assume Liverpool but cannot confirm it.

Out of curiosity where in the country are you?

Yesterday Manchester C56 also had those two channels. I'm at the outer edge of Salford, and haven't had a decodable signal since 5:30pm yesterday. I'm starting to wonder if I'm in the mush zone between the Manchester and Liverpool muxes, but I'd be quite surprised if that is the case as from the coverage maps I should be ok. If someone from more central on the Manchester beam can still get it then that would confirm it - subject to them still being in a comissioning phase and having some tweaks to make.

So are you saying you can't get either of them now? And whereabouts in the North West are you?

I had a good clean signal of what I assume was the Manchester petal yesterday for quite a few hours. TVs could see Bonanza^2 and Pop, and my tvcard could get a good lock and sensible data - two video streams and approx 33% null packets.

Then from approx 5:30pm it changed - still seeing signal strength but zilch signal quality - I'm now wondering if they turned the Liverpool petal on and I'm getting mush.

As above, approx location is outer Salford- Little Hulton, Walkden, Worsley sort of area to give you an idea of bearing to the transmitter.

Anyone else getting channels from L_MAN today? Maybe (I hope!) they are just feeding it with noise as a test...

I am picking up Liverpool local TV on ch56 for these channels

I also receive CH57 which has channels:

Mov4men+1
Fire Hit TV
Capital
Heart TV
Lamhe

According to Digital UK website this will be for Manchester local TV, so maybe i will pick up both?

Just to clarify, CH57 is the original Manchester Mux that this thread was started for.

The NEW local TV services for Manchester, Liverpool and Preston are all going to be on CH56. It's impossible to receive more than 1 of them, and there are mush zones between where none are receivable.
