Changes as of 10:30 this morning - a couple of new LCNs have appeared on G_MAN, LCN 128 Tiny Pop+1 and LCN 50 mov4men+1. No new video/audio streams so maybe these will be time shared which would be a first for G_MAN IIRC.

So there are now 7 services listed for G_MAN.

(correction - 7 services, not 8)

I thought Pop and Chartshow had been time sharing since they launched a while ago.

I've not seen them time-share in the way that other channels do on other muxes by dropping to an MHEG slate while off air. On G_MAN the off air message is still in the video stream.

Whether the data rates are changed while the off-air message is in video I don't know, I've not looked at the data rates on G_MAN for a long time, so maybe they timeshare the bandwidth that way, but the video doesn't completely vanish.

But regardless of wether the video stream drops out. It's still time sharing, neither channel is showing programmes at the same time on the mux.

The local Manchester mux is running with empty service information tables again.

https://ukfree.tv/transmitters/tv/Wi...787942#b787942

I discovered this when I was setting up a new receiver and couldn't get this mux to tune. Anyone know who to contact to get this fixed?

I think these people still run it, you could try emailing them.

8th stream added & some renumbering...

True Movies 1 has been added as a new stream on LCN 82, same LCN as it had previously on the network of local muxes.

Chart Show TV has moved to LCN 85 (was 60)
POP+1 has moved to LCN 128 (was 127)
Tiny Pop+1 has moved to LCN 129 (was 128)

Capital TV remains on LCN 56
Heart TV remains on LCN 54
ShowBizTV remains on LCN 80
mov4men+1 remains on LCN 50

Greebo - I don;t suppose you'd be able to provide an up to date picture on the number of video streams on the mux and how they are being timeshared for CSC channels?

I haven't time to look at how bandwidth is shared, but here's a pidscan of the current situation:

I've always thought it was a shame Heart Tv didn't go on Com7 as wouldn't be too bad.

Presumably linked to Heart TV on satellite being rebadged as Heart Summer from this week (as per Sky weekly thread...)

Ah, yes, it's a rename of the licence. Probably nothing interesting, then.

I don't know how many viewers this multiplex has but I have never met anyone who knows what I'm talking about if I mention it. The response to That's Manchester is only slightly better, it went off the air for several days and no one noticed according to a516.

I wouldn't expect people to know about the multiplex (why should they?), only the channels that are on it.

Obviously somebody did notice, or it wouldn't be known that it was off-air for several days.

This is the original story, presumably the service isn't monitored by Arqiva.

I like a516's blog, but that story is unnecessarily sensationalist.

Clearly people did notice it was off-air, and the article itself even says so once you get past the headline.
If there's an off-air caption then Comux (who do the monitoring) and/or That's TV are also aware it's off-air.

That's Oxfordshire has gone off a couple of times for several days at a time.

At these times the channel makes no mention of these issues in their regular postings on Facebook and Twitter.

The whole That's family of channels is already being watched by OFCOM due to programme content and technical quality.

In the case of That's Manchester - to say nobody noticed may be wrong - perhaps it could be more a case of who cares?

Clubland TV appeared on G_MAN today - LCN 89 and name this morning around 10:30am, then a 7th pair of video and audio PIDs started around 1pm - I presume these are for Clubland TV though I'm not there at the moment to confirm.

Clubland is now broadcasting in Manchester - a welcome addition if you're into dance music like me. Shame Heart & Capital went though.
