I'm concerned about who's going to host it. I hope it's not just another export where all the judges/host are British. Ryan Seacrest is totally brilliant - he should leave Idol with Simon and present X-Factor instead. I hope to god Dermot O'Queery doesn't get the job.

I would be very surprised if Simon chose Dannii over Cheryl, because he loves Cheryl. I would be very surprised if Cheryl was not a judge on the show

I think Cheryl and Louis were both tipped to be on the USA X Factor, while I do not think Dannii has been tipped to be a judge on the show.

Cheryls refused elocution, plus she hasnt been asked and she has a big enough workload as it is with Girls Aloud and her Solo thing

Dannii well her future with XFUK is uncertain atm with baby rumours floating around.

But I think the favourite is Paula.

I've not paid much attention to AI but is there really that much of a difference between AI and X factor?

i think that the americans will warm to danni rather than cheryl. just a personal thought but danni seems genuiene and cheryl puts over as being a fraud and the americans will see through that staright away!

If Paula is not named a judge, she will most likely be his creative director similair to Brian's on the U.K version.

There is not a snowball's chance in hell that Simon will invite Dannii onto the X Factor in the States. Go back and watch their relationship in the X Factor last year. There isn't one.

If Cheryl is offered the job, she will take it. She would be crazy not to and she is not crazy. Girls Aloud will have to wait.

there might be a chance in Dannii being on it? Cheryl will definaltly be on it coz she wants to launch her career in America. Mabey Dannii could stay on the English version- With Louis. Cant see Louis being very popular over in America.

the us is the home of scripted reality tv anyway, I expect the over contrived x factor will do quite well regardless o the judges to be honest

Give me one good, solid reason why Simon would get on the phone to Dannii Minogue and offer her a seat on the X Factor US.

Dannii hasn't met Simon then? How did she get on XF then?

I know things didn't look too friendly with them this year, but how can we know this for sure? The truth is, we honestly can't. For all we know they could have a closer relationship than him and Cheryl, just a weird, more comfortable one.

She got on X Factor because a year ago, Simon gave her another contract. A year ago! We could speculate why.

Dannii & Simon get on well outside.
She sang for him at his best friends joint birthday party for him and they could be seen chatting during the filming of the auditions this year.
Dannii explained recently to a Oz magazine why Simon hired her.
She said Simon saw her as someone who was 'brave and willing to dive in the deep end and stick it out when things got tough'.
And that's exactly what she has done for him.

I'm not trying to convince anyone of anything other than the fact that this is television. So, what you see isn't always what you get.

Simon may not have interacted with Dannii much this year at all, but that means nothing. I'm sick of people on here saying he hates her when that's utter garbage. If he didn't like her then she wouldn't be there.

I'm well aware of the fact that she had a contract. A contract which she wouldn't have been offered if he didn't like her, or didn't want her there.

A very naive comment. There are any number of reasons which Cowell the businessman would have Dannii there. Liking her and wanting her there are just a bonus.

People work with people they don't like and would choose not to work with all the time. That's how life works.

Regardless, I'm positive his reasons for having Dannii there apply to other people as well, so if he didn't like her, he'd just replace her.

I can see it being: Simon Cowell / Paula Abdul / Kelly Rowland or Mel B / Eminem

Mel B is way more well known for the US market as "ex-Spice Girl" and with the Eddie Murphy shindigs.

Dannii has more appeal in The US, so I see why not. I don't believe Simon wants to sack Dannii. If he had to sack someone it would be Louis as he is the most un fave judge on the panel by the public. Dannii also gives ratings for the show.........so no Dannii or Cheryl = X-factor Flop

Nay, Danii isn’t going to get the job. Danii just doesn’t fit the bill unless she goes through a major personality transformation. She maybe a nice person and a good judge on the X Factor UK, but she is a bit too up-tight for American viewers.

Paula was not the best judge on American Idol, but she got tons of love and the viewers had (sorry) fun watching her. People hated her, loved her, and went ga-ga for her; she was loose, she was yappy and she could even spit chewing gum at Simon; she had a lot of entertainment value. Then, who is replacing her now? A Comedian!

I am not suggesting that Simon select the judges/mentors based on fun factor. However, for the survival of the show, he has to think about who could make the American public turn on the TV and satisfy their appetite for a drama. He needs at least one, or ideally two, on the panel who is unique from what the viewers have already experienced with American Idol.

Simon has to emphasize how different the X Factor is from American Idol; judges become mentors, and the mentors sharpen their nails. Danii's nails are short and round.
