Wrong move, wrong wrong wrong move. Noone wants to see a remake of something a few years ago, and even if the plot differs from Spiderman 1, half the elements will have to be the same to stay faithful to the back-story.

If they have Spidey as a high-schooler you just know they'll have the villains as college students

The Spectacular cartoon series was extremely good imo. I am so sorry to see it canned just so Disney can do it in-house.
