Catt, don't forget that the BBC seem to love Alesha and I can believe that she will get her own chatshow

As I have said before I agree to disagree with the BBC about Alesha..I thought that she was poor as a judge on SCD but hey ho the BBC loves her so don't be surprised if she is lined up to replace Jonathan Ross

The Big Freeze must've got to her

You haven't been paying attention: she has been quoted before as saying she has ideas about becoming the British Oprah. I kid you not!

It would be well wicked if she uses Alesha-speak on the President.

She's said quite a bit about this, I reckon the Beeb have plans.

Its bound to be better than Lili Allen's surely? I reckon Alesha might be quite good at it.

She'll need to sort her diction out before attempting any such career move.

Another string to her bow, but one too many if it's given to her. Apart from the diction, she'd be out of her depth in a job like that, and she should stick to what she knows best. Wouldn't be surprised if she decides to go into acting either!

Oh dear - Alesha Dixon is really delusional if she thinks she can credibly interview President Obama. Unless, of course, the most powerful man in the world learns Alesha-speak, otherwise the poor guy wouldn't understand half she was saying.

Knowing The BBC have this love affair with her I wouldn't put it past them. Think how embarrasing it would be if she cackled like a witch when he was making a serious point or she tried to squeeze his knee. She would be totally out of her depth and a laughing stock.

Not only her diction. What about improving her vocabulary?

Someone get this annoying, deluded woman off TV please.

If Alesha had her own chat show I would probably watch it. I think she's quite funny, has a lot of personality and isn't afraid to be herself. I know that this will probably get quoted and criticised but that's just my opinion. Worse people have been given their own chat show.

And what is wrong with being ambitious ?

There is nothing wrong in being ambitious but you have to be realistic. I dream about wanting to be in The Royal Ballet but it is a pipe dream and will never happen. Alesha Dixon may dream of being the next Oprah Winfrey and interviewing Barack Obama. Sadly in reality she does not possess the necessary skills to do that type of interview. She would need a sharp analytical brain, a good vocabulary, acceptable grammar, good interviewing skills and a grasp of world current affairs and an in-depth knowledge of politics. John Sargeant could have done the job standing on his head. Unfortunately deluded Alesha has neither the training nor the skills. Her performance on Strictly proved that.

I would watch it too for the same reasons. At the end of the day if it wasn't successful the show would be pulled, just like Lily Allen's, Davina McCall's, etc.

It is personality and good communication skills that make a successful chat show and I think Alesha would be okay.

I can taste some posters' bitterness and antipathy from here - you'd think she'd shot their cat or something.

Was you watching a different program?? Her English is well terrible. When you can't speak properly it just isn't wicked

Alesha was a guest on This Week not long after finishing Strictly (it was that show which filmed her dancing with Vince Cable) - she came across as someone with opinions, but whose opinions were sadly ill-informed. She'd need a LOT of coaching before she could approach an issue-based show rather than a lifestyle/magazine type affair.

Chat show hosts in the UK generally have researchers who work for the show. It would be their job to make sure the host was well informed.

Poor grammar does not mean someone is unintelligent and anyone who think Alesha is unintelligent is laughable.

I've got better things to do with my time than beat my head against the brick wall of Alesha bashers on here (Gorlagon I am not addressing you), so I'm leaving my contribution on here at that.

I agree with you. I hope Alesha does well in the future.

I've never liked Alesha, even when she was on the show so I'm not a basher becauae she became a judge. Just find her personality very forced.

Goid luck to her if she gets it though! What do I care? No one is forcing me to watch it!

Hello Buddy! You can address me if you like since I have the hide of a rhino!

I would agree that diction is somewhat irrelevant, even in an issue-based magazine chat show. In fact, I would imagine they could even make a feature of it - real searching questions asked by a real 'normal' person with whom other 'normal' people can identify. I can actually see that working.

However, if Alesha's performance on This Week is anything to go by, she'd need more than a team of researchers to get her up to being anywhere near sharp enough.

Perhaps she should try her hand on a few topical quiz shows such as QI and HIGNFY, then she - and we - could see if there's any genuine potential there. I have to say that I doubt it - but it would seem the best way to see.
