HDR Remote Control Code for RXV-765 Yamaha Amp?

Hi all,

does anyone know the HDR Remote Control Code for a Yamaha RXV-765 Amplifier?

I have tried the ones listed in the manual (0176, 0082, 0186, 0376, 0712, 1176, 1276, 1331, 1376, 1776, 1815, 1949), but they just provide basic up and down volume - I would like to be able to select source inputs to.

I called tech support and the guy was no use at all... Is the HDR remote capable of 'learning' new commands?

Help please...

Better late than never, they say.

The fundamental problem is that Yamaha is notorious for changing IR codes between models. So that's why the problem exists in the first place. The code that selects "Tuner" input on one model will select "CD" on another, or do nothing at all, etc.

For example 0176 1376 and 1776 all work for my amplifier, and out of the buttons 1-9 some of them work in each instance, but it's different ones, and they select different inputs - and never the DVD.

A potential solution is the possibility of programming in individual codes discretely. I don't know if this is possible with the Humax remote. It probably is, if only one could find out how.

And lastly that leaves the question of even if you could programme the remote manually, what are the codes? Yahama used to have a list of codes on its web site, but they have gone.

I've just gone through all of this and I tried every code for every Yamaha device listed. This was so that the wife could switch the Yamaha on and off with the Humax remote. This has become vital because with my new Yamaha AV amp, all of the video signals are routed through it, upscaled and sent to the TV. No Yamaha, no TV.
The upshot of it was that one code allowed the amp to be switched on and a different code allowed it to be switched off. The Humax remote cannot be programmed to learn.
It was at this point I gave up, bought a Harmony 300i and peace now prevails!
The Harmony even adds a killer extra. One button switches all 4 TV devices on and the same button switches all the devices off. Of course all of the input, sound effect options are also available for the Yamaha.
In addition to all of that, the new remote is laid out sensibly so buttons and functions fall easily to hand.
