iPod Touch Sync Playlist - Doesn't Work?!

Hey Guys..
So I have a 120gb iPod.. I use about 59gb of it at the moment..
For Christmas I got a 32gb iPod Touch..
I want to sync across some playlists to this iPod Touch (Recently Added, Top 25 Most Played, etc.)

So I have set it up on my iTunes to do that, see below:
How iTunes is set up.

Example of playlist

That playlist on my iPod Touch on iTunes

Yet, when I sync my iPod Touch with iTunes, even though it displays the playlists carrying the right songs, I end up with something completely different on my iPod - possibly the Top 25 Most Played of songs on the actual device??

See

Other examples:
iTunes
iPod Touch

And just to clarify, I have checked the settings of the Smart Playlists:
Top 25 Most Played
Recently Added

Does anybody have any suggestions please?? I hope the printscreens were helpful!!

Hi, thanks for the detailed background to your problem... unfortunately it doesn't shed much light on what's happening - I think that's the reason responses have been thin on the ground.

However, there are a few things worth trying...

Remove the 'playcount > 0' from the smart playlist - if 'last played' is within the last week, then playcount will be non-zero anyway.

Try deselecting everything except the '25 most played' playlist, then re-sync.
Change the number of tracks to 5, say, then re-sync.
Watch out for genius mixes - deselect these in the iPod sync page.

Basically, try to reduce the complexity of the playlist selection, then when things seem to be working again, build up the playlist selection until you get the desired result.

Lastly, your iPod can't make up playlists on it's own other than the 'on the go' playlist - it's all driven by iTunes.

Incidentally, have you tried to sync your old iPod using these settings? (The older iPod might not support the genius mixes...)

Thank you very much Zapod, I removed the play count filter, and turned off genius mixes *at the same time* and it worked, so thanks very much!!

My "Top 25 Played" hasn't worked for months. I think there is a bug in iTunes - it displays the songs correctly in iTunes but it syncs totally random ones.

Glad I could help. Doesn't explain why iTunes was behaving the way it was, but I've had trouble in the past with smart playlists not working so I tend not to use them on the iPod other than to limit the amount of music put on.

But playlist conflicts can arise - for example smart playlist A includes a particular artist, yet playlist B specifically excludes that artist. You then pick both playlists to sync up to your iPod. What does iTunes do? (I don't know the answer, but actually, I might try this myself! )

So you can see how many smart playlists/genius mixes can compound issues when it comes to syncing. HTH.
