This is of course personal opinion & not fact, but on VH1 Classic they just played that shi**y Sunscreen track.

My god the 90's had some crap in the charts

There was also brilliant tracks too! I was born in the 90's and I'm not being biased at all 2001 to but not inc. 2010 hasn't been very 'good' for music imo

As does every decade since the charts began.

But every decade has it share of great tracks.

However Sunscreen is probably up there with the worst.

I actually quite like that track. It's pretty much a chain letter in music form but puts me in a good mood at least.

It's a good track to sit back and listen to from time to time. I'm about due another listen really. I might understand a few parts better than I did back in 1999.

Nothing compared to the shite that is the 00s.

Riddled with:
X Factor singles
Reality TV/Pop Idol
R&B/Hip Hop artists
Michelle McManus
Z-list celebs and remake/charity songs

No wonder the sales tanked mid-decade. The cancellation of TOTP etc.

I think that decade has a lot to answer for musically IMO, particularly in the charts. Quite a disgrace really.

But for every reality star in the charts that people grumble about, there are innovative artists creating some great music. You just have to look for it, it just doesn't drop into your lap.

The charts have been full of music people either love or hate since they began, the 90s and 00s were nothing new in regards to that.

You could say the same for anything by the Streets, and they seem to do ok!

Not claiming it was the best song ever, but... you're holding that up as the benchmark of c*** from the same decade that brought us Whigfield's "Saturday Night" (complete with the flimsiest and cheapest-sounding MIDI piano solo *ever*) and countless worthless house-influenced club tracks?

To be fair to "Saturday Night", there is that dance routine...

'The race is long, but in the end it's only with yourself'.I like that line. Also 'Get to know your parents. You never know when they'll be gone for good.'
There's a lot of wisdom in the song.

It is a lovely, thought-provoking poem, but maybe means more if you're already at the looking back stage of life.

I remember the first time I heard that song we were on our way down south to watch Stockport play at Portsmouth and BRMB raved about a brillient new song for ages they were going to play , just before we lost the signal they played it and we all thought what a load of crap.

Yeah, but it's hilariously bad.

I mean, if you could distill the wish-fulfillment mentality of your average over-horny, clueless 14-year-old and turn it into a record, this would be it. Which is why it's so f****** horrible, but it's still funny.

What the hell is up with the random screaming in the video? The song is bloody horrendous - like a robot and a velociraptor attempting to make a record.

LOL!! i heard this song along time ago and I loved it because of how dodgy it is. It is a crap song indivdually though. It goes better as a backtrack music overlay for You've been Framed or something.
