Two Houses - how will it work?
athena2004

Ive been thinking about this for days now,

there will probably be TWO Launch shows on the same night
OK, great!

but from here on it starts getting complicated

How will the Nominations work?
will there be TWO evictions each week?

How will Channel 4 broadcast the show?
which house will they show?

HOW will E4 show the Live Streaming?
OK, so they might use BB Interactive to show both houses, but what about the people who do not have BB Interactive (Top Up TV Customers)

I just dont see how this will be made fair?

To answer your questions:
How will the Nominations work?
will there be TWO evictions each week?

In Australia each house nominated as usual, then I think in the first week a housemate from each house was evicted, with subsequent evictions seeing viewers choose from the nominees in both house for one eviction a week. The final house nominations took place before merger, with that weeks eviction after merger. From there on in, it's one house and business as usual.

How will Channel 4 broadcast the show?
Highlights from both houses in the one show. It's a simple as that. Think about - how many clips from the show feature ALL the housemates. Showing tasks would be more difficult, but clever editing could see it work, but viewers wouldn't want to see the same task twice.

HOW will E4 show the Live Streaming?
Same as above. Live streaming on the non-interactive service would just show the most interesting events, switching to another when legal problems arise.

I think they will do it and I think it wil work.

For the first two weeks they could have them living in seperate houses.

Heres how I think it should work out:

Two small compact houses.

8 people in each house.

Week 1: The public vote for there favourites from house 1 & house 2.

The person with the lowest amount of votes from house 1 is kicked out.

The person with the lowest amount of votes from house 2 is kicked out.

Week2: the same proces for week 2.

After 2 more people are evicted ther will be 6 in each house which makes 12 peole altoghter.

On the saturday night they will move in to the real BB house.

It would draw out the process too long. they'd have to have 14 or 15 weeks worth of show instead of the usual nine...wheras thats how long Oz lasted before the two house idea anyway.

Out big brother is actually one of the shortest, the African one ran for about 120 days, the US runs for 80+ days and the Oz one runs 90days UK is only 64.

I'd actually like 2 houses, or maybe even 3 with either 6 or 4 people in each. Then they will all be really bitchy to one another and it will lead to tension all the way through the series. Maybe we could be able to vote for anyone from all two/three houses for the first few weeks of evictions, until the houses merge and then the housemates get to nominate themselves.

Don't think the two house idea would happen while BB is still at Elstree as the site isn't really big enough.

If they introduced the HoH format now, then in a couple of years when their lease at Elstree is up, they could use 2 houses and the HoH format quite well:

Each house has a HoH who nominates 2 for eviction. The other HMs vote for which housemate they want to face the public vote. Then one nominee from each house faces the public vote.

Hmm, I'm beginning to think all this two house & HoH malarchy will stray too far from what makes BB so great - the original formula of 10 or more people living in ONE house, interacting day in day out.

Sounds too much like Survivior or something, why don't they create another Reality TV show to use this idea on and leave BB alone.
