Enough with the Glee songs!!
There must be a LOT of saddoes in this country who have falling for the Glee hype.
Some artists out there are dying for recognition, but won't get it because of ***** buying these cheesy songs on a cheap nasty television show. This rule of letting songs in that have appeared on television shows needs to be re-thought. It's making our charts look even more cheaper than it was, and it shows the public need their heads checking. |

The Glee hype is unlike any other seen before. It is completely deserved and even though it is fantastically cheesy, it is not cheap. Bad luck OP! |

People will buy what they want, and the Glee cast are all really talented, and thanks to the show now have recognition. A couple of years back when indie dominated, stuff like this would get nowhere near the charts.
What's 'in' changes all the time. |

Your thinking something is "cheap", "cheesy", and "nasty" does not necessarily make it so. Your opinion isn't fact, it just makes you sound bitter.
Besides, the charts aren't everything. There are plenty of other people/things preventing those artists "dying for recognition" from getting what they want. Blaming an American TV show for it all is laughable. |

the good artists havent got recognition for years thanks to bloody x-factor and britain blatantly hasnt got talent.
not to mention this rapper ft that rapper and groups who have absolutely no talent at all. at least the songs from glee are are well written by artists who had talent, wrote their own songs and shockingly played and sang on their own songs - unlike most of the top 40 nowadays its an absolute pleasure to see classics from Journey in the charts no matter what tv show gets them there, ive no doubt someone will start sampling them soon anyway. |

If people choose to buy songs which have featured on Glee than that is their choice, there will never be a moment where everybody agrees on the quality of the latest no.1 for example, this country is too diverse. Your preference is yours, now let others have theirs.

Glee is a fantastic TV show about overcoming prejudice, having fun and being the underdog.

well im a fan of glee but yes there is better music but i'll rather have glee sung by talented singers (quite a lot have been on broadway) then have complete rubbish selling well (timbaland, justin bieber! etc)

I was just about to say there are some very talented Broadway stars among the Glee cast. Lea Michele and and Matthew Morrison are excellent.

The thing is, yes some of them may be able to sing, but I'd them rather releasing THEIR OWN MATERIAL!
I think the UK public has been brainwashed, and instead of watching TV and listening to radio - go out there and discover a new artist! |

There's only 1 Glee song in this week's top 40, so I fail to see how it's "making our charts look even more cheaper than it was"

Seriously why do you care what's in the charts so much? Nothing wrong with Glee whatsoever. |

Am I one of the few in this country who has no idea what this 'Glee' thing is? Not that I want to either, although would it be wide of the mark to assume it's some kind of post-HSM American TV show about young performing arts types?

I find Glee as a lighthearted enjoyable hour of TV , a bit like HSM meets Fame.
One of the advantages of the music selections and availability to download via iTunes is it introduces a variety of music to a new generation. I see that Glee will feature , for example. "on my own" from Les Mis , and "you're having my baby" a Paul Anka hit from the 70s, alongside rock classics such as Journeys "don't stop believing" ( how many kids are discovering this classic for the first time, either via Glee or X-Factor ? ) |

It looks like the OP has failed a bit! People will obviously buy what they enjoy, and many people enjoy Glee (as has been proven with a strong opening) Just because someone likes Glee whats to say they don't like some unsung talent as well? Of course, everyone needs their "head testing" as they don't like something you like, and i'm sure people don't really want to watch but are all being "brainwashed"

The public can buy what the hell they want, whether that be an X-Factor or Glee related song. Its people free choice to purchase them, noone has a gun to thier heads.

Glee might also introduce people to the artists that originally sang the songs featured in the show
