Didn't like the music either.

Really I don't mind it if it's done rarely and I mean very rarely. Once a year, twice tops. Though we've had music played several times over the last few weeks. This is not HO!

Thought it was a bit strange. I was expecting them to cut to a clip of someone playing the same song on a radio, they've done that before.
Didn't mind it too much, though.

They had it before in Matthew Robinson and John Yorke's era. When Trevor dropped the match stink setting fire, the car with Phil and Grant in it flying into the lake etc. They just haven't had slow motion for about 6/7 years

Anyway, I really thought it fitted it well, I really liked it I just hope they don't use it regually, once or twice a year is enough.

So embarrassing, just leave it to the lesser soap for all that nonsense.

Kirkwood wasn't there when they filmed it.

Diederick Santer has always been a fan of music montages, different camera techniques and special effects. It's something he has always used, sometimes well like technique they used in the Stacey episode during the summer but sometimes not so well like Heather cam.

I think he's just experimenting more with music and special effects as it's his last chance to do so. Either that or it's Kirkwood but I doubt he has much say in what happens right now, everything up until at least spring has been managed by Diederick.

I thought the music scene worked well but the slow motion for laptop scene was strange and a bit pointless.

I really hope this isn't going to be a regular occurence in EastEnders. I couldn't believe it when the episode started and they did a Hollyoaks-style montage.

I really hope that was the last of them. They're embarrassing and do not work on EastEnders. Bryan Kirkwood (he's involved in them, I'm sure of it...why would Santer randomly start doing them?) needs to be reminded he's not working on Hollyoaks now.

This is nothing to do with Kirkwood. Eastenders have used music like this loads of time over the past 4 or 5 years. This is not a new thing at all. And to those suggesting Kirkwood was behind this sort of thing at Hollyoaks are ignorant and should do their research. Hollyoaks has always used music. Right from its launch.

Eastenders have used music before. This is nothing new. But I thought it was all a bit cheesy today at the start usually they can pull off the music quite well. But it felt strange tonight for some reason.

We could write letters to tell them how weird it is! Or I think there's a place on their website to submit comments on what you thought about the show.

Not seen tonights episode.

Not keen on Music in soaps tbh i don't like everyone doing the same thing at the start(Hollyoaks) but i do like the music they do over xmas In EastEnders.

I hope we don't have split screens and all that rubbish
flashbacks and slow motion.

EastEnders is a dramatic gritty soap they don't need these tacky things from Hollyoaks

Yes we know that but a rare thing is ok
Kirkwood might have these music things in nearly every episode.
EastEnders has been going almost 25 years its well known for it's gritty drama and raising Big issues and has alot of viewers.(Mixed ages also)

Hollyoaks has manily teenage viewers and has allways done these tacky music things but HO is not iconic like EastEnders at all.

IF he does strart messing it around then he can FU*k off.

still im off to watch Tonights episode
