I loved watching both episodes tonite, but did see/hear something rather bizarre.

The music being played towards the end of the second episode was as many of you know is the final movement from Faure's Requiem "In Paradism".

Morse fans will recognise it from the last ever episode when he collapsed from a heart attack in the episode The Remorseful Day.

Now, this movement lasts about 5 minutes or so, yet from the time Mark switched it on, and when Natasha arrived at the house, it was some time, yet the same music was playing.

So, who was switching it on again, and again?

One for the Most Haunted Team perhaps?? Very spooky.

Maybe the CD was on repeat, I sometimes do that with a song I like so I can listen to it over and over

Hello MrGiles2

Thankyou for pointing out what the music was. I DIDN'T know what it was, but fell in love with it as soon as it started playing and was desperate to know. I came on DS planning to ask if anyone knew what it was - but you beat me to it. I am very grateful, thankyou. I am going to get a copy of it, now.

I thought it really added to the atmosphere and high drama of the episode.

Hello Moll Flanders

I am glad that you liked the music from emmerdale.

It has been recorded many times over the years, being a popular piece with classical fans. Do have a look around though on Amazon especially and read the reviews before making up your mind.

Theres nothing worse than a poorly performed or recorded version of this sublime work.
