You can tell kirkwood is involved!! the musical montage at the begining, the comady of errors. I actually thought I was watching a poor Hollyoaks episode, I really hope it doesnt turn into that dreadfull soap....I might cry!!

eastenders has done these for years.. how long have you watched? the first time they tried it was when demi and leo did these weird bike chase. it has nothing to do with bryan kirkwood.
people on here are so full of hate they have to slag off a man who hasnt even started in the job properly yet.. |

I really enjoyed the montage, something they haven't done for a while. I think it set the episode up quite nicely.

![]() Bryan Kirkwood hasn't even started yet, let alone had a hand in an episode that would have been planned and written 6 months ago! |

![]() You won't see any BK involvement on screen for several months. And no, he hasn't officially started, he officialy starts on March 1st, all he is doing now is shadowing Santer. |

And I think people are forgetting Hollyoaks had opening montages even before Bryan Kirkwood was involved with the show. It wasn't something he introduced himself, he just maintained the tradition. Diederick Santer has used montages quite a few times on EastEnders now.
Bryan Kirkwood doesn't start at EastEnders until next month when he'll work alongside Diederick for a month before taking full control in March and he's not going to be turning it into Hollyoaks. He has worked on other soaps before Hollyoaks, you know. |

He has started, the episodes that we have seen for the last month he has been involved in...trust me I know!! They wouldnt let him jusmp straight in because it would change the show dramaticly, they slowly feed little bits in.

http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/soaps/s2...astenders.html So stop making up bull. Others have alreayd pointed out you are wrong about the music as well. EastEnders have done this loads of times over the years. Ronnie's 'Missing' as just one. And there was a great one when Kat was in hospital after trying to kill herself. So go do some research as you clearly have no idea what it is you are talking about.

Santer said he's always been a fan of Bryans work, does this mean, he's watched Hollyoaks and seen the montages and decided to rework them into the show before he leaves? I know Eastenders has done some montages in it's time but this past month there has been an unusual amount of them, and the one just after Christmas with Ronnie was awful. I think these montages really take reality away from the show, and for a show like Eastenders, who normally never starts with montages I think fans are just worrying about it. People shouldn't start slagging off the fans because they have a few concerns, afterall.... thats how it started in hollyoaks, 'just a music montage' it's easy for producers to get carried away and start awful dream sequences. We can only hope the fans let the new producer of Eastenders know, this is not what we want!! |

I want to use Archie's solicitors I have been waiting nearly a year for my Grandmothers Estate too be settled - Eastenders takes a couple weeks.
I quite like musical montages - Sopranos used too use them - If they are done well they are excellent. |

Erm. Some are so ignorant. EastEnders has used these on/off for ten years. I think they even did a dream segment in the episode for Kathy's exit. They have always done little things like this.
This episode was filmed in October and edited in November. Bryan was no where near EE studios at this point. Hollyoaks did these segments before Bryan and have continued to do them after. Just like EastEnders did them before Diederick and will continue to use them after. Anyone thinking someone from EE is reading this and taking note are deluded because a, some are so rude your opinion will never count, and b, some are making up blatent lies about having family or friends work on the show. Despite the info they are posting being made up. |

They've done montages before, once they played travis - flowers in the window and people then compared it to Neighbours.
Just be glad the two minutes of music gives way to great drama, & not preparation for the deb ball. |

When this was filmed i think BK had only just been anounced as the new exec producer so it couldnt have been him, but i just think for the next two or three years certain people are going to hate what ever BK does even if it brings EEs strongest ratings they will say but its to much like Hollyoaks. I am really looking forward to BK taking over EE as when he worked on Hollyoaks it had some of its best storylines and characters.
