After last nights ep it became clear that they have some sort of wind machine. How cool would it be to have a cyclone hit the square. The market stalls would be devastated, and it could happen over the course of a week, just for some drama.

2 People could end up with their lifes in grave danger, and a power line could trap people in the cafe.

The last disaster didn't go down well mainly due to the way it was structured, and the scripting "get den watts" But with the drama, the other storylines going on, the power cuts etc this could be done really well. Darren might have to save Heather and Shirley, Janene and Peggy might get trapped together, or Janene and Peggy might have to work together to save Gelinda.

Heres some clips from another soap which had a cyclone and it was very good.

The fairground clip doesn't seem to be on youtube.

Just for a bit of fun...Alf stewart could do a cameo to help with the cleanup / rescue. "strike me run....HES the father" "stone the famin crows....its Peggy Mitchell"

Eastenders dont seem to be able to big stunts as well as some other soaps, the stunts come of as looking a bit cheap like the Cafe explosion and the fun-fair. But if they did it right it would be good.

That would be a good idea. Then Trina's tree would be uprooted and Owen's clothes and mobile would be found underneath.

I actually didn't mind the fairground disaster. I thought it was great how everyone rallied round as a team that day. And even Sam gave Den and Sharon a shot at helping her behind the bar at the Vic

Didn't Sonia Fowler only say that AFTER the fairground collapse though? It was when all the men were going to start a brawl with the people who botched the construction on the fairground ride.

I think people just like using that line to emphasize how farcical the whole thing was - as if Den Watts was Superman and could swoop in and save Walford forever!
