Think Ronnie Would Be Better Landlady- The New Bet Lynch Of Soap
I would prefer to see Ronnie being the landlady of the Quuen Vic. She has the better qualities as an actress.

Nah, someone outside of the Mitchell's would've been good. Even bringing in a new family would've worked.

Why does it have to be one of the Mitchells?

Better actress and more interesting character? Yes
Better Landlady? No. It was the right move not to give it to her. Now I love Ronnie. Her character is deep and right now she is the official tragic heroine of EE. However as good as a character she is, she is a bore behind the bar. Sorry, she is. From an entertainment point of view, it won't work, unless EE give the character a complete U-turn. Let's take a look at some of most popular bar ladies of EE. Peggy, Sharon, Tiffany, Kat, Chrissie - all larger than life personalities who 'spiced' the place up. I'm not a huge Roxie fan myself. She's a selfish brat and I consider her underserving but she has the neccassary spice that is what's needed behind the bar. She is brash, funny and fiery. While I would have prefered someone new and fresh to run the place (i.e no Mitchell), I'm pleased out of them all, it's her that has it. You need a certain type of personality to run the Vic and Roxie has it. I do agree with what another poster said about Shirley though. I think she would work well as a landlady. |

Apart from the fact she doesn't have an ounce of buisness sense in her But that could be quite amusing...I do really like the character of Ronnie, I'd even go as far as to say she is my favourite character, but she doesn't really suit the landlady role. I think she needs to go down a slightly more adventurous path. I do think that the pub has to stay within the Mitchell clan though, its tradition more than anything else. The Mitchell's ARE the Queen Vic. I'd have hated Shirley to get it...but I cannot stand that character anyway. Same with Billy. I'd have loved Glenda to get it Lording it over Peggy and throwing her weight around! Would have been quite comedic I think.

Roxy is a poisonous, vain, twisted, moody, venemous witch.. she could be Peggy's daughter.
