Tv display settings change when using HDMI

Back a while ago now we had an update to the humax freesat+ boxes which have noticeably changed a few things for the better

One thing that has changed for the worse, when watching tv via the hdmi as I mostly do instead of setting the display on my tv at 'wide' it sets it at one called 'super live 1' which is too big. This means everytime I switch on the tv I have to change the display setting

If using scart it stays on wide

My set up is in case its needed for offering advice is

Freesat box via hdmi into home theatre amp, hdmi out to tv.

This never happened before the update when using the setup as above, display setting stayed on wide unless I changed things.

Is there a setting I can change or do I simply have to put up with it?

Since the upgrade I have to set vformat to 1080i (or 720p) any other setting with my Sony TV gives a large overscan shoving captions etc partly off the screen

If you want to stop your TV auto switching, then switch that off (on the tv).

RE Overscan: I just spotted my Sony Bravia has an overscan option which isn't much use.

Thats what I found just now on my tv, when trying the other suggestion out, have now switched that off and it stays in 'wide' now just like it used to

No idea why this changed after the upgrade tho

Often different inputs have different stored settings - so while analogue RF might be set to 'Smart', SCART could be set to 'Wide' and HDMI set to something else. So you may need to set each individual input to be how you want it.
