Silent Witness

Did anyone lose the 1st episode of this on the 14th. One minute only recorded on my 9200. No other conflicting recordings on the schedule. No channels in the 800 range and surprisingly the machine has been behaving itself since the Winter Hill dso in Dec.

Mine recorded fine - Sandy heath.

But I've had several recent instances of 1 minute recordings of Inspector Frost

There is a bug in the 9200 software referred to as the "one minute bug" which causes recordings to fail in this way. It has bee discussed previously on this forum.

If I remember correctly this occurs when the Hummy starts recording early for some reason and then is stopped when the actual start signal is detected.

I did think of saying that in my last post but I wasn't sure if everyone posting about the issue agreed that was the case. It is a fairly rare occurrence so doesn't get much discussion.

Hi

Had this happen before and found series link and accurate recording so unreliable went back to just padding recordings many many months ago (no problem we got Silent Witness, all of it). Couldn't tell you the last time something didn't record in its entirety since we've been in control, and everyone is much happier, except when the unit stops responding for seconds at at time

Accurate recording type signalling is nothing new, VHS video recorders had PDC years ago and that did the same thing more often than not, started recording then stopped after a few minutes. So in 15 years they have made absolutely no progress whatsoever!

Regards

Phil

When you play the 1 minute recording and press the info button twice, does it give you the correct description for the episode which should have been recorded?
