A TV that is not black or silver ??
I post this on behalf of my folks who are very traditional & do not want a black or silver TV frame. Does anyone manufacture an LCD/PLASMA or even CRT in a 40" (consider other sizes) screen that is not black or silver framed. A wood veneer finish would be ideal. Other alternatives considered.
Alternatively a TV cabinet finished in wood or cream that will house a 40" TV ?? |

I haven't seen teak TVs in almost 3 decades
Loewe do some TVs with decor panel inserts. The TVs are still silver or black but at least it's a nod towards matching the telly with the room. The cabinet idea is probably the most sensible route to pursue. If their heart is set on a wooden looking TV though then I can have a TV cabinet customised with a wood effect finish of their choice. I'd look at cabinets first though as this sort of customising work takes a lot of organising to preserve the TV warranty, so it's really expensive. |

Thanks for your response but i cant see them spending the money for customized stuff .. but appreciate the feedback. If anyone has a link for cabinets for the 40" TV's i;de be very interested |

Philips probably do some. They always used to cater for older tastes (wood).
Alternatively, buy some wood-effect sticky-back plastic and carefully stick vinyl over a normal TV? |

Never seen any. Maybe a business idea for the manufacturers here. Some new homes have wall cabinets to hide your lcd or you could try one of these..... http://lcdcabinet.com/preview/index.html ... This isn't a UK site, but you get the general idea.

Thanks for all the responses. My folks have now found a display unit finished in Yew that houses their 40" TV. They are now happy bunnies

Once upon a time, all TV's were encased in walnut veneer. Then the 80's happened.
Then black was king .... then silver ...... oh & then black again ![]()
