Anyone else have the recording of the results show cut off prematurely? Just spotted it and gone in to set up a manual recording to catch the ending - it's still on for a few more minutes.

Convincing the missus that the HDR is a good idea is getting harder and harder!

Bah.

Even though it recorded the first 25 minutes or so, it won't play, instead saying "Recording failed. Unknown reason."

That's very odd mine recorded it fine and I watched it in chasing playback about 10 min behind real time after watching Wild At Heart in HD

My wife recorded this last night - just checked and all is well with our recording.

Are you using Auto for recording time as I noticed that actual recording time was 21:35 - 22:05 whereas it was scheduled for 21:30 to 22:00.

Are you sure it won't play, The message normally only means that you have lost a tiny bit of the beginning due to an overun of a previous recordimg.

Yes I was using auto.

Not sure what's caused mine to fail/stop prematurely then. The box was in standby at the time if that helps.

I'm sure it won't play, yes. I go to play it and it gives the error message and my only option on the dialog is "Delete". if I press exit then I'm just back to my media menu.

Other than asking what other recording you were doing at the time and checking both tuners are working properly then stumped. I was recording BBC HD at the same time throughout.

Two tuner check if using two cables

Goto 108 and start an instant recording
Goto 951 start a scond instant recording

Try a selection of other channels and press pause to ensure you can live pause them all

Two Tuner check if using one cable (plus loop)

Record 108 and 951 as above

try live pausing 121 117 304 140 208 302 203

I had both eps of Dancing on Ice to record plus Wild at Heart in HD. As we were watching at the same time, HDR automatically switched to HD at the start of WAH. When it finished, we missed the opportunity to switch back & the HDR re-booted. After reading these posts I checked the recordings & the 2nd ep of DOI failed to record. This presumably was because during the reboot it missed the signal to start. This is the first time my HDR has rebooted on its own in thirteen months but I assume it was something to do with ITV HD ending.

No idea what's happened then. Clearly something bizarre happened which has caused various problems on a few boxes!

My twin tuners work fine - plus it was in standby with no other recordings at the time anyway.

Will do a reset I suppose, just incase.
