It just about gives it away on next week's spoilers on here.

When have you ever known a soap trial going in favour of a character you know or want to get off, regardless of their guilt or in the majority of cases, innocence.

The guilty party always gets away with it for a time at least.
Usually they eventually get their just desserts, but you'd think just once, we could avoid the weeks of fighting the innocence of the
<FILL IN NAME OF SOAP> 1 / 2 / 3 etc.

I believe the old Brookside philosopy was if people said, 'You can't do that !' about a storyline, they did it regardless. One example of which was the deaths of Sue & Danny Sulliivan. 'You can't possible kill a baby !' CAN'T WE ?. Seems 'Oaks does the same thing.

How long can this story go one for?

Must have been running for about 18 months now, and looks like it could last till christmas.

Free The Hollyoaks One !

Please, please etc don't let this take over the media. You wonder if soap makers really have a downer on the justice system as I was saying in the earlier post, the innocent always get sent down.

I know that Dan is found guilty but I hope it's not too long before he's released. I can't stand what Ellie is doing. Sending Dan down for murder to protect Toby's name.... that's not on.

I hope she's found guilty of lying in court and is sent down. Ellie knows the truth so it's bound to come out sooner or later. When have you known something in a soap to stay hidden for long?

I'm really bored with soap trials and miscarriages of justice. Particularly when the trial beforehand wouid point to the exact opposite verdict.

Just so unconvincing and a way of dragging out an already overplayed storyline

Cant help but think Hollyoaks is looking a bit tired since going 5 days a week.

As people are saying, soap characters when on trial, and when innocent, are always found guilty and banged up. If any soap producers read these pages: can you PLEASE stop doing that? I mean, PLEASE?

Ellie has been a totally unbearable character from Day One but now she makes me want to smash up my own TV and lob it out of the window.

I think Mr Redmond's storyline-dragging out tactic is at work here. It was that, not the multiple deaths and ridiculous storylines, that did for what was once a decent soap - Brookside. It didn't start to decline during the incest storyline, nor Lindsey going from chip fat expert to bisexual gangster's moll - they were just stupid, and stupid doesn't kill a show. What kills it is viewer apathy, not outrage, and thus when Brookside dragged out its date rape storyline for, I think, more than a year, before it was revealed that the guy who was accused of doing it near the beginning really did do it, it drove everyone mad. It drove me nearly insane to watch it D-R-A-G-G-E-D out in a way even the producers of Sunset Beach (R.I.P.) would envy. Any power and drama in that storyline was killed off by hitting us over the head with it 3 times a week for so long... and there were so many other examples, e.g. Jimmy's mental decline, which we saw for about 10 years. As well as dragging out, we had repetition - e.g. Ron having yet another heart attack...

It's becoming equally unbearable in Hollyoaks to endure Ellie not acknowledging that Toby is a murderer. Every time there's a scene where her sister is shouting at her about Dan and Toby, and their brother is trying to placate them both and there is some kind of hint of a flashback, I want to scream.

In the name of Beth Jordache (RIP), Phil Redmond, please get some new plots!

Particularly when the only reason for storylines is to deal with the end of a character's contract - another thing Planet Mersey TV are fond of....

So Dan was found guilty to murdering Toby, it’s a shame due to the spoilers we all knew the verdict ages before it was shown on screen.

Hello again Lexi ..... Hollyoaks can be a happy soap, unfortunatley only when a couple of characters are on screen the rest of the time (especially recently) it has been a bit on the unhappy side !

And when is Darren going to lay off Norman ?!

And when is Norman going to get a decent storyline - he has been shat on enough - give him something fun !

exactly, ever since Theo's demise (RIP) they havent left poor Norman alone, hopefully this new romance will work for him though. I still love Hollyoaks and i was gutted when Dan got sent down when will things get better for that lad?

And what with Mandy, Tony, Max, Sally, Lisa, Ellie, Les, Lee, Ben, Izzy, Emma, Debbie, Steph, Zara (oh must i go on...) being miserable all the time there are now only a few scenes that are truly funny.

Wish Norman would just punch Darren out. Better would be the girl whose chasingNorman to hatch a plot with him to sucker Darren into thinking she's interesting in him, then humiliating Darren in front of the whole pub.

Mores the pity, i think Norman will be pushed too far one day and hopefully murder darren and frames Mandy and that will get rid of the 2 most annoying characters in the soap! Wishful thinking!!!

Well here's hoping you get a job writing for Hollyoaks Lexi ! Until then my fingers are firmly crossed for that to happen ! Isn't Norman supposed to be one of the many characters to be leaving soonish ?
