This all goes out of the window if it's a recording off the radio channels.. I record the 'Craig Charles Funk & Soul show' (BBC 6Music sat 19:00~22:00) quick plug there and when you press the > button on playback it doesn't skip forwards but BACK by about 2 mins, then you have to press again to make it go forward..

edit: oh yes and the other transport buttons don't work at all, apart from stop and play and pause.

edit: sorry the multi speed forward and backwards don't, up and down do as do the skip buttons.

As it happens (and to digress completely from the OP!), I was wondering about recording from the radio, copying it to a USB stick and thence to my PC, then pullling out any interesting tracks using an MP3 editing programme (for replaying on an MP3 player).

How do I get from the HDR recorded sound format (whatever that is: I have to confess, I haven't looked at this at all, yet) to an editable MP3 file?

Try project x to demux the file to it's original MP2 format (Many players will play MP2 anyway).

Alternatively try using vlcplayer convert/save to convert to MP3

I was recording, but watching live.

On pressing the silver ring left the recorded matter obligingly reversed.

Having returned to current output I checked for "stanandjan-symmetry" effect, pressing right, but was very disappointed !

Stanandjan, have you borrowed the Doctor's sonic screwdriver ?!

You and I David are not supposed to 'OUT' each other..
Obviously now.. all know that I am a TIME LORD..
whereas few indeed will have realized that you are a SPACE LORD!
I realized that when..
Way back in June09..
you admitted co-existing simultaneously in 2 locations on Planet Earth..
One was ..as now in..'Huntingdonshire'
and the other Cosmic Co-Existence Location you revealed on the 7th June that year..
with the comment.."I live in rural France "
I KNEW then your exalted status.. with your cryptic clue..
"Even Google could NOT see you.."
I must now confess to you that
it was I that Black-balled
your attempt to raise your status to LEVITATION LORD
in the vary same Earth Year..
My judgment was based on the fact that..
Whilst i regularly hear from Janet that i did indeed make the Earth move for her..
Last year you could only pen limited levitational ambitions and aspirations..
and latterly disappointingly.. with help from persons unknown..
along the lines..
June.." "I am moving house in a few weeks"
August.." we are moving house shortly "
Specific Vector omissions of velocity and direction suggested to me that..
you had attained your appropriate Level already
and the other Council Lords agreed with me..
Whilst my disguised mechanism reflected an earthly lifetime as a BT engineer..
I will agree that it was a smart move to disguise your transport mechanism as a Caravan..
who would have guessed your earthly lifetime?
Rest assured.. My lips are sealed.

Stan
