When everybody is ready maybe you should think about getting another cat. It won't replace the one you have lost but it might fill the gap that you have all been used to having. If that makes sense. At the moment there are thousands of cats needing new loving homes.
And for future reference maybe keep it as a house cat. My vet has always been positive about a cat being kept indoors. It does them no harm, the only time I would ever let my cat out and about is if I lived in the middle of nowhere with very minimal traffic.
Keep your chin up and in very sorry for your loss it must be difficult. But you will get there.”
Yeah it was a tricky one, as he absolutely loved going outside - before we got his flap, he would whine by the door, begging to go out, and he was in his element when he was finally allowed to come and go through the flap.
We live in a cul-de-sac, so he'd just hang outside in the close, and as far as I know, he's never been down to the road before. A lot of the time he would just sit in our front garden, and he was sitting there 10 minutes before it happened and didn't want to come in. My brother found him by chance on the way home from the shop...
At least it must have been quick and painless for the little chap
I have suggested a new kitten to my mother, and sister, but they are too upset to consider that at the moment - I think it would be a good idea for them eventually though.
