i don't have a male terror. Its only a 350L tank so they'd be far too territorial and kill the other fish i have in that tank. The only time i.ve ever let fish breed was malawi's about 30 years ago. Loved watching mum carry her babies about in her mouth. I want another 4 foot tank to start up another malawi tank but i'm running out of room lol

i loved watching my convicts when they picked up and spat out their babies if they strayed too far across the tank

i know the feeling of not having enough space, i have a 150 gallon in the living room, a 15 gallon under that, a 17 gallon in the kitchen and a 3 gallon in the bedroom. i really want a 2nd 150 in the living room as i would love a trio of lemon fin barbs or bala sharks, need a bigger house first, or a husband who doesnt mind having no sofa in the house

would love to try out a malawi tank, maybe 1 day, i would also at some point like to own mud skippers, and a small salt tank as there are some beautiful fish out there

bloody hell thats a big fish tank. Whats its dimensions? You must have a very big house lol. If you do get yourself another whopper i will give you 2 beautiful bala. They.re about 5 inches at the mo and nearly ready for a move. I also have a tin foil barb who needs to go too but i.ve found someone with an 8 foot tank so hopefully he'll go there. I know they should be kept in schools but his tankmates died within hours of arriving. Got my money back so all was ok apart from the poor wee fishies. The surviving one is about 6 inches nose to tip of tail and i had to perform first aid on him once. He swallowed a bit of plant that got stuck in his mouth. I had to pull it out for him. His trick at the moment is to fit 6 algae pellets in his huge orifice at the same time . Its amazing how he flips them around until they fit in. Quite the character lol.

its 72 x 24 x 24 inches, works out at 150 uk gallons, 180 us gallons, 680 liters. and no, my house is far from big, its a 2 bed mid-terrace lol, we do have a fairly large sitting room, and the tank is the same size as the 3 seater sofa

i would love to take on your balas, have some convincing hubby i 'need' another tank though, im sure we dont actually need a sofa in our living room il buy some bean bags to sit on instead hehehe if only!

tin foils are gorgeous, we had 3 lemon fin barbs in this tank before we decided they needed more room. they were 16,17 and 19 inches each and they smashed the glass cover within the first week or so of moving in decided we need a bigger tank with a sump to house those guys so rehomed them to a guy in london with a 6 x 4 x 12 foot tropical pond in his 'fish room' what a set-up

All this talk of big tanks is making me jealous! Only have a 10 gallon now. Just no room for a bigger one. Had a gorgeous planted community tank a few years ago but had to sell it.

I'm jealous too

I've got to save up for my new tank - and if OH's car dies I'll have to spend my tank money on a new one

(or get rid of OH........)

We have the room. We just have divergent priorities.

My parents are taking custody of a number of the Guppies because I threatened to put Eddie 100 Tails the Siamese Fighting Fish back in the community tank as a form of population control unless I got my new tank I was joking But I must be a bad person that they thought I was serious.

The Platies are reproducing regularly as well now - but they seem to have one at a time Which doesn't seem normal, unless we do have a baby eater in the tank with a taste for Platy babies.
