Robin Cousins to miss a few weeks in February?
D.M.N.

See: http://www.bbc.co.uk/pressoffice/pre.../winter2.shtml

It appears he'll be commentating/reporting on some of BBC's Winter Olympics coverage. I suspect, as thus, unless the commentary is from London that he'll be missing a few weeks of DOI.

He only needs to be free Sunday evenings so maybe he'll do both

He's doing 3 pieces of commentating - I'd imagine that they wont be on sunday, which is the only day he needs to be there really

He did both durig the last Olympics but they were in Turin and it isen't far to go there from London unlike Vancouver.

D.M.N., he's flying back and forth from Canada, just like Jake should have done.

Nicky does the commentating for the European skating that's on now, and still manages to be back for DOI.

I hope Robin is available for DOI during the Winter Olympics - the panel would be sadly depleted without his contribution.

May the Saints preserve us from Jason and Baby Spice.

Well looking at the schedule the Pairs skating is on sun 14th & Mon 15th and the Ice Dance original dance is on Sun 21st with the free dance on Mon 22nd. That would mean him missing 2 weeks.

If he is going to miss a couple of weeks I hope it's going to be someone who has skating expertise.

I heard they're changing the whole panel around that time. Victoria Beckham's replacing Karen, Geri Haliwell's in for Nicky, Mel C for Jason and Mel B for Robin.

I say this every year - but why not Anita Harris. She has both skating and performance experience and her critiques would be far more informed than Jason or Baby Spice.

Also she is apparently broke and could do with the money - I'd rather see it helping to pay off her debts than swelling the coffers of the ubiquitous Spice girl.

Who the heck is Anita Harris?

Looks like Robin is going to miss a couple of weeks whilst the Winter Olympics are on. Flicking through the Radio Times on my Lunch break the listing for DOI Friday on 12th Feb said that they would be talking to Sunday's guest judge.

I guess it will be confirmed this weekend if not before but wonder who it will be.

Anita Harris is a singer, actress, very good dancer and accomplished skater who, I believe, has performed in and choreographed professional ice shows. At one point she skated with Courtney Jones, who was a World British Ice Dance champion 4 or 5 times in the 50s. She was probably best known in the 60s, 70s and 80s. It would make a lot of sense for her to be on the Ice Panel.

Quote:
“Harris's musical career began as a child, although her expectations were to become a dancer. Soon after leaving school she left the UK to train as a choreographed skater in Las Vegas.”
