Sandwiches/wraps without meat or fish
Anyone have any idea for non-meat or fish sandwiches, besides salad, cheese and egg? Or anything with those ingredients which is a bit different?
(I expect there will be the usual 'jokes' from a couple of meat-eaters but I'll just ignore them). |

Cream cheese and roasted red pepper.
Goat's cheese and caramelised onion. (I know they're cheeses, but it's not the usual cheddar and pickle or cheese and coleslaw.) Hummus and salad in pitta. Curried egg (boiled egg mashed into a mix of mayo, mango chutney and curry paste with some flaked almonds and/or sultanas added). |

I have meat free wraps all the time - or sandwiches.
Cream cheese and cucumber, chutney and salad leaves, Cauldron chick pea pate is lovely too - I often have this with cream cheese or cucumber slices or chutney as well. |

I put salad cream in it. Wasn't sure if you liked it. A true taste sensation but some people freak out about salad cream.
Thanks, everyone. I had no imagination and was fed up with cheese and salad. |

That's why the internet is so good. If you are ever stuck for ideas and this is what I do, I type the ingredients into a search engine and plenty of ideas come up.

I've just put a red, a yellow and an orange pepper into a roasting tin in the oven along with two sliced courgettes and a chopped red onion. Tomorrow I'll fry some slices of halloumi and then put the lot in tortilla wraps for lunch.

I sometimes make a tray of veggies like peppers, mushrooms, aubergine, courgette and red onion and cook them in the oven until they're roasted (sometimes with garlic too). They make a lovely wrap / sandwhich.
Especially with cream cheese! Things like roasted peppers are quite versatile, they are nice with grated cheese as well. I find that a good chutney can make a plain cheese sandwhich very tasty too! |

Roasted veg (peppers, red onion and courgette) with Philadelphia cheese in a ciabatta/baguette.
Roasted BBQ peppers and onions in a wrap with sour cream, grated carrot and lettuce. Hummus wrap with salad and spicy salsa. Leftover veggie chilli wrap with cheese and sour cream (I stick it in the microwave for a few seconds before I eat it). Roasted peppers, mushrooms and onions with thick pepper sauce on ciabatta. Honey mustard glazed veggie sausage with caramelised onions. |
