Which Freesat+ box does.....

After 5 faithful years my Freeview toppy is playing up, so looking at Freesat.

Not happy that none of the boxes have RF out, but think we can get around this with a SCART to RF convertor.

Just wondering which Freesat+ box ....

1) Places multiple recordings of the same programme into folders

2) Keeps season passes/series links dormant until the next series and automatically starts recording again

or

3) Allows title search/record which keeps an eye out for programmes.

These are basic features on my toppy that I dont feel we want to be without. Any ideas?

Thanks

The foxsat-hdr stores series recordings in folders.

No freesat+ (or freeview+) will pick up a new series simply because the broadcasters change the series codes for every new series. In any case the spec calls for the stb's to delete redundant recording reservations after 13 weeks without finding a new episode

Don't know of any that can auto reserve programmes based on it's title.

Thanks

Thats a shame about the series links, it is a killer feature on our Toppy, ensuring that we dont miss the first episodes of the next season.

The real killer feature of the Toppy is that anyone can add on almost any feature they wish by loading their own add ons to the firmware. That enables replacement EPGs like "MyStuff" on the Toppy that have keyword recording.

Hopefully its a model that one of the manufacturers will follow soon. If the HDR had that kind of user extensibility it would be one hell of a machine. Quite probably however the Freesat spec precludes such a machine from being developed.

I use this RF modulator with the HDR
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...SIN=B001E5LY00

And this to send remote signals http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B...SIN=B000GIXH42

I'm looking to connect our Foxsat HDR to a TV (without SCART) in another room. Will these two items from Amazon do the trick?

The Foxsat HDR is connected to our main TV via a HDMI cable. Would I plug the second TV into the Foxsat's Scart plug?

You can connect to the tv scart/vcr scart or the three RCA phono Yellow (cvbs) Red/White audio outputs. If you put the aerial feed into the rf in to send terrestrial channels to the remote TV you will need to choose a channel for the modulator not used by your transmitter. Start at 21 tuning the remote tv's analogue tuner to the signal at each step and work up.

And yes the two items should be fine.

If you've got an old VCR ,you could always connect that to the foxsat via scart and then use the RF out on the VCR to feed the television in the other room.
