Oh yeah, remember when RI:SE set the stage so that Lee could ask Sophie to marry him live on air a few months after their reunion, which was also screened live in RI:SE? It was so romantic, so intimate, so uncontrived, so special, so personal.....
Personally I think a lot of BB "romances" are a load of point-scoring, tactical, tabloid-story fodder, money-driven , profile-raising rubbish. However...
It's interesting to note that those with the most long-standing post-BB relationships are the ones who have managed to keep their profiles low without running to the tabloids every five minutes with a new take or hollow story about their lives/houses/sex antics. I'm talking about Claire, Tom and the first ever BB baby Pierce and Helen and Paul, still in love and common-law hubby and wife three years on. Maybe Alex and Mel can be added to the list as, apart from the odd London party they attend, they're very private, plus they got together a year after he left the house, and only after declaring on camera that he thought she was lovely before he'd met her - and they're still together now.
I suppose going though BB is a bit of a 'bonding' experience for some housemates once they leave - facing the praise/criticisms etc makes them gel, is that why some romances develop outside the house?
Personally, as an avid (no pun intended) RTV spy, I hope there is no sex or romance this year, but scandal, drama, controversy, characters and great tactical game-playing instead. The whole BB romance thang has been done to death, both in and out of the house IMHO.
That doesn't mean we shouldn't have any eye candy, though!!
