Help please....

Contract finishes on Monday and I want to go on PAYG.

How do I know if my Nokia 3410 is locked.

and ... Do I just buy a sim and put it in the phone. ?.

Where will I get a number from?

You just put the sim card in the phone and start using it. The number will be included with the sim card pack; you will also be able to find it in the 'my numbers' section of the nokia phonebook once the sim is in the phone. If you get an Orange sim, the number is not included - you need to phone them to register the sim 1st then they will give you the number. You may have to do this with other networks also but I know that with Vodafone you don't.

As for finding out if your phone is locked or not, you could try putting a sim of a network other than the one your phone was on contract with in your phone - if it works you know it's unlocked. You could also go here and get a free unlock code 4 your fone - if it's already unlocked then the code won't do anything, and if it is locked, then it will unlock it for you.
