I really hope your cat is ok. I definitely would recommend as all the others have said a vets appointment, and TBH if the cat hasn't been eating or drinking for 3 days I would have gone to the vets days ago. Cats can go down hill really quickly when not eating etc, and dehydrate really quickly too. Maybe some fluids at the vets could really make the cat feel better. Could be kidneys that are the problem, but only a vet will be able to help. I do hope all ok.

I have a poorly cat too at the moment, she went downhill last week, wouldnt eat or anything, she has since had treatment and some teeth taken out, she seemed to pick up after that, started eating again etc, but since friday she ain t ate a morsel, she is sipping water, took her to vets on saturday morning and was given an injection and some some syrup to syringe into her mouth, have only dont this twice and its so distressing for me, she just vomits it straight back up, poor thing is so weak, im hoping when i go back tomorrow with her they take her to the animal hospital thingy and put her on a drip, she seems bright enough in herself and wandering around ok, she just wont eat, its realy frustrating, so fingers crossed for my smokey too everyone please

It so horrible when your animal wont eat. I think they become frieghtend to do so. It quiet likely that when they first become sick and are sick the associate it with eating so they get put off there food. I do hope your little one is ok. Please let us know

hi ..sorry, not sure of the op, but my cat has gone to hospital for the night to be put on a drip and further blood tests, vet rang me earlier to say she is showing signs of kidney failure but may just be because she is so weak, he going to monitor her overnight and re-do the bloods tomorrow, will keep you updated, thanks for your concerns.

lindy, I'm so sorry that she's had to stay at the vets, but it's probably for the best.

Let's hope after she's been on a drip all night her blood tests will be better.(HUGS)

I'm sorry she's had to stay in Lindy, what a worry for you, although at least she is in the best place so far as treatment is concerned.

One of mine became ill last year with not eating/drinking and vomitting, he spent 2 nights at the vet, one on a drip and he made a full recovery, although we never knew what actually caused it.

Fingers crossed your cat will be back home and well soon too.

thanks again ev1 for their concerns and best wishes, heres hoping mine pulls through like the above posters cat did, but its not looking too good at the moment, im on tender hooks here, not long spoke to the vet, smokey is still not eating and waiting more blood tests, they are now concerned that there is something wrong with her brain as her pupils are huge, fingers crossed for all our poorly pets.

well in sitting here breaking my heart as i type, not sure if im doing the right thing but we have told the vet to let smokey go...she is still being treated at the moment and we have until the morning to change our minds, but i hope we are doing the kindest thing we can, she is spitting out food, seriously thin now, and not responding to treatment, she is 14 yrs old, i have 7 other cats and smokey is not the oldest , i have one 16 and another 17, i just didnt expect my next cat loss to be smokey, its so sudden, anyway just thought i would keep you updated and take this oppertunity to thank you all for your kind words xx

Lindy if smokey has CRF you are (IMO) doing the right thing. He is not going to get better and you don't want him to suffer. My cat died of CRF when he was 8 years old. He was taken in for fluid therapy for four days (which improved his levels considerably) and then came home for four weeks and had fairly good quality of life during that time. As soon as his quality of life deteriorated I took him to be PTS - there is no more you can do. I know how hard it is, I will be thinking of you.

I am so so sorry. I think you are going to do the right thing by your cat. Its such a selfless thing any owner can do and my thoughts are with you.

hi again and thank you,i must be thick but i have had cats all my life and i dont know what CRF is???? she has had loads of tests done and most were negative apart from a slight rise in her kidney ones, she was tested for leukemia and feline flu and they were fine too, the vet still seems to think it neurological, as her pupils are huge, i have been telling myself all night and day that im doing the right thing by her but it just feels like i have let her down, here come the tears again,

Lindy CRF is chronic renal failure . I'm so sorry about Smokey, are you going to be with her tomorrow if you decide to have her put to sleep ?

I know it will be hard for you, but I think you'd regret it if you weren't with her.

It does sound like brain damage, perhaps the poor little thing's had a stroke.

I'm so sorry, love and hugs to you and Smokey (HUGS)

Oh poor Lindy and poor Smokey.....my eyes are welling up thinking of you both.

Smokey will be in a better place and in no pain. I know nothing anyone will say will make you feel any better but you must know you;re doing the right thing.

Go and give your other cats huge hugs and kisses.

I'm so sorry about Smokey Lindy. Please don't feel like you've let her down because you haven't. Part of being a good pet 'owner' is knowing when to let them go and it does sound like that time has come for her.

I'll be thinking of you both today.

Sorry if I misunderstood lindy, I thought the diagnosis was renal failure. You are doing the best for your cat and that will be a comfort to you in the future.
